Can we rewind please and go back to the non stonewall penalty awarded by the bent referee without which there could be no Eurofinal.

It was a pen.

I was totally stunned when the commentary team totally down played it. Thankfully VAR kicked in and announced they were checking it, just as the annoying american ref was saying how it wasn't a penalty.

Dumbfries went in studs up, over knee height, and made contact with Kane after Kane had struck the ball. Anywhere else on the pitch that's a free kick all day long, so it shouldn't be any different in the box.

Then football is finished as the Cloggies manager eloquently points out in a post match rant

"To penalise that is to tell him we cannot play properly football."

Sounds like loser talk from a loser

Sounds more like the righteous anger of a man cheated by a bent referee.

Someone needs to tell Ronald the game has moved on since he played. These days you can't go in studs up, over knee height, just as you can't haul players down on the edge of the box when they're clean through on goal.

I thought a penalty was awarded for stopping a clear goalscoring opportunity? And since he'd already blasted it over the bar, where was the opportunity?

So you can commit a foul inside the box - such as punching someone in the head or violently studding them above knee height - and as long as it doesn't stop a clear goalscoring opportunity, it's ok?

I thought the defender got a touch on the ball with his toe before contact with Equity member Kane.

This. Initially thought it was a joke decision but after watching it more times (as VAR and the ref did) it's a fairly obvious foul. They went for the ball at the same time but Kane got there first - it's really unlucky on Dumfries, but it's a foul. Soz.

So in future, when defending in your own penalty area, at all times keep your arms held firmly behind your back, and whatever you do, dont make any attempt to try and win the ball by tackling the opposition player, there you are, all sorted !

You forgot to add" Don't push, and shove or pull a Jersey in the box" as the prying eyes of Big Brother VAR will find you out and thousands of penalties will be awarded against you.

Well, yes apparently. As was explained when Ronaldo had his shirt pulled over his head by an enthusiastic defender. Because there wasn't actually a clear goal scoring chance, it doesn't matter nowadays. Sometimes, anyway

Also dont sneeze or breath too heavily over an opponent, it could well be classed as an ''assault on the player '' especially if he drops as if poleaxed to the floor !!
