The same Dr Malcolm Kendrick who wrote a sensational book saying Statins don’t work thus causing many patients to refuse taking them. He has had well publicised disagreements with Lancet and some believe that his stance on Statins has caused unnecessary heart attacks and strokes in patients who would have benefited from taking Statins. He does enjoy being a contrarian and some have called him a quack. Seems right up your street!

PS - I forgot to ask if your post was Wummery or just you being a real life pandemic denying loon.
Has it crossed your mind that he might just be an utter helmet?
Once or twice Max, once or twice.

Are we supposed to believe the tub of lard cycled 7 miles, had a mooch around the park then cycled a further 7 miles back?
I bet he is fitter than you.

1564 deaths reported today

1,564 deaths reported today. But at least infections are starting to fall now - 48k today, so the rolling seven day average continues to drop slightly. I'm guessing this fall is coming too late to prevent a 2k reported deaths day coming up in the next week or so.

Another 200k vaccinations in the last 24 hours.

Celebrate the fact that we are vaccinating more than any other European Country and stop being so negative. Man up!

Again though the strangeness of the reporting process rears it's ugly head. Amongst those 1564 deaths reported today are dozens that go back to last May. How can you trust a system that reports eight months late.

Tbf I've learned to take anything they say with a massive pinch of salt so have expected 2million per week to be closer to 1million per week.

Really? Where did you get this from? Not that I don't believe you, just to add context to the daily figures when I look at them.

"Patients were aged between 39 and 102 and all except 46 (aged 39 to 98) had known underlying health conditions.

The date of death ranged from 8 May 2020 to 12 January 2021, with the majority being on or after 6 January"

The so-called "empty hospitals" hoaxer getting a well deserved fine - maybe should have been more.

There were 1,564 covid deaths in the UK today.

A record high.

How many in New Zealand? 0.
Vietnam? 0.
Australia? 0.
Taiwan? 0.

The Tory government – not the public – is to blame for these deaths.

^ Is it really just construction sites that are the difference between lockdowns 1 & 3? The amount of people and traffic about at the moment just doesn't seem to be any lower than when we were in tiers 3 and 4.

It's not their fault, a civil servant drove to Durham 9 months ago, blame him.

Joking aside, they were briefing further restrictions last night and now Sturgeon has done it we can do it as well (without looking like the bad guy).

I drive into W1 twice a week at the moment to visit half a dozen buildings either side of Oxford St. I'd describe it as a bit of a polo effect - the suburbs and routes in (via Walthamstow / Finsbury Park) are quite busy with lots of people around, particularly in the parks but once you cross Marylebone Road into Baker St and down to Oxford St there's hardly anyone around and there's bundles of parking spaces which are usually full.

It does feel different from the first lockdown though - as Dunners says above, don't see much difference between now and Tier 3 before xmas.

Must be quite reassuring having a secure job with Hermes in this climate
