It was clear that we were going to have to do this based on the figures from before Christmas. Boris should swing for this.
It's just tier 4 with schools shut (which is what we've got here).

Mess the vaccine rollout up, think that might be the tipping point

Yeah, true. But it's also like the voting intention's via that poll also do not reflect real life.

Well, yeah, but come on. Other polls show that, when balanced across constituencies, Labour and Tories are polling at 284 and 282 seats respectively. But it is still surprising to see that on a straightforward percentage share, people are actually impressed with government handling.

But I should know better.

Rogue poll I'd imagine

Our daughter, who is an RAF Reservist, has just been asked if she is available to go to 72 hours notice of mobilisation from midnight (to assist with medical services she reckons - it's not a military coup yet, she assures me  ) - she's been on 14 days notice since 1st December.

Something is gonna happen.

As they say ‘If people are not prepared to stand behind our armed forces, they’re more than welcome to stand in front of them’.

The army should long ago have been brought into run all the rollout logistics.

But the army has no shareholders to satisfy, so how on Earth would giving the lucrative roll-out work to the army be on the government's agenda? (and, since they can't make a profit at it, how on Earth would the army be any good at it??)

Someone - very possibly your good self - posted something similar back in March and nothing came of it. I wouldn’t panic just yet.

Covid numbers today are 13.71% positive.

A friend also mentioned to me today that they think 111 changed its directive end November, so that more people were being directed to hospitals. This is the 3rd source I have heard this from.

The more you test the more you find.

Can't remember if I posted this before from ONS. I think this was for the first 11 months in 2020. Number of deaths 470k. For under 60's 17k accidents, 4.8k suicides as we go down the list 0.655k falling down the stairs and finally 0.377k covid. Suicides is up significantly sadly.

Okay, it took him just over 24 hours.

He should have done this two weeks ago. How many lives will this delay cost, and at what point will the government be held to account?
