Dunners wrote: Wed May 29, 2024 8:55 am Even I feel that Labour have been mean to her here. Abbott may be a doddery old race-baiting, identity-driven politician, but her perspective is more understandable given her experiences.

God knows, she's been the target of vile racist and sexist abuse over the decades. Lesser men and women would have thrown in the towel long before now. Eventually, I hope, she can rehabilitate her image to some extent and be respected by most people for her achievements, and not just her many cock-ups.
Blimey. It seems even Centrist dads are coming out in support of Diane in this whole sorry starmer made mess. Really hope more will throw their support behind her and speak out against Sirkieth, not just those of us on the Left.

Dunnem, thank you for giving me hope.
This day will be remembered as the day of Dunnems leftwards turn influenced by nothing other than simple human decency and empathy for a fellow human being. There is hope for all of us.

Are you really expecting a bite?

Strangely Tory boys: Proposition Joe & Max B Gold ( beginning to wonder whether or not they are the same person- both are usually very insulting too) are all over Diane Abbott. Could it be Sir Keir has made a shrewd move removing this doddering ole biddy, who continually makes faux pas. They will no longer have an Aunt Sally to tilt at.

So you're on Team Snark too these days as part of its terminally confused ageist wing. Bring it on.

I wouldn't rage about it. I totally understand the point she clunkily made.

Me correctly calling FoF 'silly' = very insulting
Calling respected female MP 'doddering old biddy' = absolutely fine.

What a silly Boarder this character is.

Even the invertebrate Wes Streeting struggling to defend how Labour have treated Abbott on this morning's media rounds. Another fine mess Starmer and his cabal of advisors have needlessly created.

This is the most disturbing aspect. Anyone left of centre has obviously had concerns and doubt about him from day one. But we've always been told by the Responsible Grown Ups that he is competent. The first inkling of pressure and it seems that's not the case either.
