Re: Tory Watch
If you were a Tory MP wavering on his leadership (quite a number have said they were waiting on the report to decide on whether to trigger a no confidence vote), it's an insult to your intelligence to think that this provides any closure or clarity at all. It is a completely meaningless document.

Re: Tory Watch
It states that the police are investigating a party that occurred inside the PMs personal flat on 13 November 2020. That was the day Dominic Cummings left Downing Street.
There must surely be a substantial number of Tory MPs who now realise that continuing with someone so irresponsible and lacking in credibility is just not feasible. His lack of professionalism, and the stories about his disregard for document security, completely undermine him. Things are proper risky right now. We could even be dragged into a war with Russia in the foreseeable future, and we have this clown as PM.

Can’t see it myself. Anything to cling on. He knew what this report would say the whole time, which is why he has pointed towards waiting for the findings when people have called for his resignation

Re: Tory Watch
They knew this when the leadership election was happening. He was an absolute disaster as foreign sec, he leaked gave away or generally was careless with confidential information all of the time in that post. Everything he's ever done professionally and personally in his life pointed towards him being the exact sort of leader he's proven to be.Dunners wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 3:20 pm It states that the police are investigating a party that occurred inside the PMs personal flat on 13 November 2020. Re: Tory Watch
Johnson just blamed Starmer for not catching Jimmy Saville. Had to rewind to double check that he actually said it.
F*ck me, what a sorry state this country's politics are in when this is the PM.

Shambles.
Apparently the call with Putin has been cancelled because Johnson is having to deal with this.

Re: Tory Watch
Feels like it's right on a tipping point - had this been any other politician, I'd boldly be proclaiming them as utterly f*cked and on their way to negotiating their memoirs. But this is new ground - a politician that has done so much to denigrate the office he holds is unlikely to do the proper thing now. It really does come down to whether the party is bold enough to remove him. Problem is, he's likely to be their best bet come election time and he still unbelievably plays out well in the so called red-wall. Well at least better than anyone else from the Tories does.
Personally, I hope they do shift him. Not because I think there's a decent successor waiting in the wings as the Tories are basically a party full of power crazed brainless f***-nuts - but to see him slip the net will set a new low. And it will embolden him and his ilk to continue on their sh*tty path of just lying and sh*tting on all and sundry.
Christ, what sh*tty times we live through.

Re: Tory Watch
She ain't known as "Mad Nad" for nothing. Always been utterly barking. Suspect Johnson made her Culture Sec for giggles. No way could anyone consider her to be worthy of a Cabinet position.

Re: Tory Watch
Just rewatched that Commons session on the 6 o'clock news. It was even more savage the second time round. Thankfully they didn't show Johnson's disgraceful Saville quip at Starmer.
This from Aaron Bell seems to be be resonating with many Tory MPs and commentators.

Just saw Dorres on channel 4 news. An unbearable fanny who should go when Boris does and never be let near politics again. Vile.

It’s what Johnson does. He surrounds himself with useless people who know that if it wasn’t for him they’d be nothing, so they repay him with undying loyalty.

Re: Tory Watch
Much respect to Sue Gray from me. She wasn't cowed or silenced. I think for most ordinary people she was able to confirm that their feelings of betrayal are validated.
Yet there is no response from Johnson to suggest even an inkling of decency!
But what is even worse: apparently only a few Tories are minded to depose him. Hanging on to the coat tail of a failed leader in hope to keep themselves on the gravy train. How sick is that?
