The Israelis are hopeful that they will have a vaccine Within weeks. I guess the b d s supporters would boycott it.

China seems to be getting it right, we could be in for a more concerted effort to contain the virus.

There are a few vaccines that will be ready for testing within weeks. As is being emphasised again and again though, you're looking at around a year for human testing. A vaccine is worthless unless it is proven to be safe.

Getting over 70's to self isolate for potentially months will be disasterous.
The first thing it would do is to reduce the health, both physically and mentally of those. This would significantly increase the pressure on the nhs.
This should be aimed at people with respiratory, heart and other health issues. Not fit and healthy 70+ year olds.

After football this morning I went with my wife to sainsburys to get a few things for the fridge. OMG, no toilet rolls, no hand cleaner, no chicken in the meet section, no tinned tomatoes, no pasta, on and on it went it’s like people think we will starve. This is a huge Sainsbury’s as well not a little one.
People are going way OTT, there isn’t a food shortage nor a shortage of anything else, people need to calm down and just go about their normal business. Old people are going to be screwed over by these actions as there will be nothing left the day they go, and it’s not like it’s easy for them to keep coming backwards and forwards everyday to see if there is anything there that they need.

Just to add, we are not stock piling anything and don’t intend to do so either.
Keep calm and carry on.

I went to my local co-op/ post office
Lots of toilet roll soaps & sanitisers pot noodles pasta & any amount & choices of bread .
These people who need to go shopping at the big supermarkets would do far better supporting there local
Stores & shops.

I was in my local Tesco yesterday and there wasn't a bog roll in sight and the shelves had been cleared of canned foods. I have just been to my local Co-op and again not a bog roll in sight despite a limit of three per person.

Professor Chris Whitty, England's Chief Medical Officer, said on March 12 that he expects the UK would reach the peak of its coronavirus outbreak in about 10 to 14 weeks.
3 months of this sh!t until we hit the peak infections! I’m not sure I have the stamina to do social distancing or deal with the never-ending hysteria and news updates about this bloody covid19 for that long. Just a weekend confined to barracks with no sport or culture as a diversion has been bad enough.
