Whether he becomes a good player at some point we need more nous and experience in CM right now. We've got too many young players for them all to play so this works out well for all parties.

He will become a good player.

I would rather have had him than either Coleman or brown.

The decision to bring them 2 only makes sense now that Kyp has been flogged on. This must have been on the cards for some time.

Sounds good to me! Moncur would be a good signing, with maybe another cm coming in. But if we have actually managed to get 300k for him which people are saying fair play Martin Ling.
300 K Plus sell on .
If people know the figure was £300k, then it'll be because thats the release figure in his contract.

We get shafted yet again. The one player in our midfield that can retain the ball sold.

But good luck to Hector. I'm sure he'll go on to show the know-nothing idiots on here just how good he is.
The one thing Ling knows about is selling players. He probably made sure of getting extra money if Hector plays more than say 50 games with a 20% sell on fee if sold by Peterborough. Good business for a youngster yet to prove himself in the higher league.

I mean Peterborough have signed 100s of players from the lower leagues that end up back in the lower leagues so I don’t see this one being any different.

You know how release clauses work, right?

As a few people have said, we were frustrated because Hector didn’t perform for us and this can be due to various factors. With better players around him Peterborough probably think that will unlock his hidden facets (the ones some people on this board see) and be a success in that environment. Almost a moneyball situation.

If he’s likely to never realise his potential here due to various reasons that’s fine and it’s the right option to sell, but it doesn’t mean he has no potential in general, it’s just not in this environment.

Have also received 13.5 Million in the last 5 years as players have moved onto better things.

I wish him well.

I think it’s a similar situation to the Dan Kemp transfer. Another club has spotted potential in a player that I just don’t see.

Personally I don’t think he’s what we need right now. I am betting RW felt the same or he wouldn’t have gone. We have kept Ruel, Thompson and Theo after all.

We need a more energetic and combative midfielder and I have no doubt he’ll be coming through the door shortly.

Come on Orient.

Good luck Hector.
Regardless of what you thought of his ability he always put in a shift. Hope he goes on to have a long and fruitful career.

Anyone remember the time we sold Darren Purse who went on to play in the Premiership and our numb nuts fans said what a load of sh*t he was?

Or the time we sold Nicky Shorey, who went on to play in the premiership and for England and our numb nuts fans said what a load of sh*t he was?

Ok , fair enough you’ve mentioned two . How many players did our fans call it right ?. For every Darren Purse and Nicky Story there’s probably five that went straight down the pan.

That might be right but the point I was trying to make was that I didn’t think RW fancied him for the role he needs. If he’d said to Hector ‘I want you to stay. I am building a team and want you at the heart of it. We’ll go up this year and you are my main man etc etc’. I am just saying I bet you RW didn’t have those thoughts or that conversation. If he wanted him to stay I think he could have kept him.

RW consistently picked him - in fact, wasn't it RW who stuck him back in his preferred CDM position rather than the CAM role he isn't suited for?

Hector has just turned 21 and is still developing. He was never going to be the main man.

Not arsed. He regressed last season. Slow and no positional sense.
