Anyone flying out from Heathrow tomorrow (not likely with the game on)?

If so, the eco nutters will be out to disrupt the whole airport and ruining people’s hard-earned breaks.

Emma Thompson speaking up for the protesters. So does that mean she is not going to use a plane to fly to Hollywood or do any films on location, just in the studio with CGI - does it heck. Hypocrites all these celebs saying one thing as if they are such a goody-two-shoes and then carrying on their life and work as normal.

Just seen on BBC report "Dame Emma joined the protests after flying from Los Angeles on Thursday" - oh yea so environmentally friendly. And I bet she flew 1st Class.

Agreed - far better to do and say nothing about climate change at all.

The world is full of such hypocrites. I’m willing to bet the protesters are contributing to the problem every day.

What youngsters? The ones drinking out of plastic cups, plastic bottles and so on? Those youngsters who are polluting our planet with their plastic, bit hypocritical if you ask me.

Surely they should be protesting in the US. Mr Trump is the one who does not believe in climate change. As pulling out of the Paris agreement shows.

Plastic will almost certainly be phaaed out as packaging in the next 10 years. Our beloved prime minister dare not upset the large businesses and hence the 2042 date. A pm with some nous can force change very quickly.

I thought the idea was to encourage people to use trains not cars.
My wife & son were on that train! They stopped at Canary Wharf as the protesters had got on top of the train. Passengers were able to continue the journey on another train so pointless really. As Greyhound has alluded to, seems odd they are protesting against trains when cars are the major polluters.
Actually Cows commit more harmful gases to the air than all the cars in the whole world do.
The cows methane is a falicy or should be. Methane is a much more dangerous gas than co2, but how much do we produce? I expect it is more than cows.

Most of the methane is held in the polar caps and with global warming it is slowly being released. This is why another 0.5° rise over the next 30 years, may be the tipping point.

Asia and China are very much aware of the problem and are trying to make strides in to clean energy. If Trump was onside then a much stronger approach would be taken.

Remind me how many new coal fired power stations China are currently building?

Have you been to China? I have and the air pollution is appalling with a near constant smog virtually everywhere. It’s really bad, like bad on a scale you can’t imagine unless you’ve seen it for yourself.

Found this and it's shocking. :(

I have heard about it and China did spring to mind.
