I'd definitely like a forward thinking DoF, ideally someone who is analytically minded and more in touch with the modern game.

But that won't happen yet. So it's a case of do you want Ling involved in hiring the next manager now/near futurw or should we wait until the summer before we clear decks and a new DoF recruits the manager?
Yeah, fair point, and one i hadn't thought about. Of course, that is assuming there is a new DoF.

Ling has done his job of rebuilding us and getting us promoted, but i cant help think he has reached his limit as to where he can take us. Another failed manager appointment and an almost blank canvas to put a squad together in the summer, which has been an abject failure.

He reached that limit some time back. Agree he was there pick up the pieces after the mad one, but he can't keep dining out on that. Times move on, tactics change, old contacts become less useful.

He is without doubt part of this transfer committee, but no-one is expecting K&T to offer footballing opinions. Poor recruitment of players and now increasingly looking like poor recruitment of managers (bar one).

KJ needs to show us what all his experience is worth, but who is the common demoninator in all this?

Tbh I'd rather have some of those senior pros from last season than what we've brought in during the window, which says all you need to know about decent recruitment
Really
You'd rather Sam Ling Josh Coulson & James Alabi
Over Drinan James & Smith ?

Deluded !!
Turley ahead of Moss
Widdowson ahead of... no-one seeing as Wood has been ousted
Wright / Freeman ahead of Kyprianou / Young / Coleman / Brown

And yes I know the first two are currently injured before you say it
Wright & Freeman- Are you having a laugh. They are garbage

Ross wasn't allowed to thoroughly build his own squad
Which led to dreadful football with a non league squad & visit.

Again Kenny having 1 hand tied we are agreed
👍

Injuries to key players is just an excuse for a deeper malaise.

Soz, I have been too heavily influenced by the deep negativity on here and decided to add a conspiratorial slant to it. I will try not to do it again.

Have you given any thought to what is causing the deep malaise ?
