Booing him off the pitch seemed to properly rattle him last season, couldn't handle itThor wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 1:11 pm The boy was badly advised at that time in my opinion. However, we don't know if the club tried to get him again, if we didn't then that's an error on Lings side of things, or JE might not have wanted him back. Shame really as we all knew we had a player on our hands who we needed then and still need today.
I for one will not be abusing him as it's futile and can actually backfire as the player becomes even more determined to play well.
I'm guessing you're more of a "fair play" and clapping the opposition type then?
I agree. Edou made what he thought was the right decision at the time . With the benefit of hindsight he might see it now that he made the wrong decision but that's life. I still regret we weren't able to sign him though because he's a good player . Just to add, what's the betting he scores against us .Thor wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 1:11 pm The boy was badly advised at that time in my opinion. Almost certain, if I were a betting man I'd have money on that oneRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 1:22 pm Just to add, what's the betting he scores against us .
Funny we where promoted as champions without AdamsThor wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 1:11 pm The boy was badly advised at that time in my opinion. We got promoted in spite of our midfield rather than because of it. In the end our best CM proved to be a 37 y/o winger, says all you need to know really.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 1:53 pmFunny we where promoted as champions without AdamsThor wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 1:11 pm The boy was badly advised at that time in my opinion. Sorry but unless your some kind of mystic meg you don’t know what might of have been if Adams had stayed he could of bombed out quite easily he decided to leave we won promotion
Yeah and almost double winners.
He's won over me,probably because we are so crap in midfield.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 1:22 pmI agree. Edou made what he thought was the right decision at the time . Also means Jobi wouldn’t have had to be played in the middle and would quite possibly still be playing on the wing for us.
Of course.dOh Nut wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 8:23 pm None of us know how it would have panned out if he joined. What we do know is that without him we were NL Champions and that’s more than good enough for me. Why speculate when we know the outcome of last season without him was top drawer.
So in retrospect I cannot see how we can be disappointed he didn’t join. Winning the championship is a good as it gets.
Once Adams found his feet with us, match after match he got high ratings and more than played his part in helping to get us away from near the foot of the table where we were when he first joined us. All a lot of nonsense in trying to put the young mans ability down. JE played him in a position that suited him and got the best out of him and that is the truth of the matter. From all accounts, Martin Ling gave him a take it or leave it deadline to sign for us and for some unknown reason ( perhaps ill advised by his agent ? ) it did not happen. Lastly we have STILL not filled the holding midfield position with as a good a player as Adams was in his time with us. Lastly, I think it very childish and unsporting to boo ex players because they moved on to other clubs.
Thing is we are all guessing, what if. Maybe had he joined we could still have been in the NL this season. Who knows. I’m happy with how it panned out.RedO wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 11:03 pmOf course.dOh Nut wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 8:23 pm None of us know how it would have panned out if he joined. But this season ain’t looking too clever, is it. Would be nice to have him here right now, not just last season.
We have never got to grips with filling that role. Maybe Fletch will recognise the issue and deal with it.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 11:28 pmOnce Adams found his feet with us, match after match he got high ratings and more than played his part in helping to get us away from near the foot of the table where we were when he first joined us.
