Nigel said we had new investors
Agree with this. The wording of a stand doesn’t bother me, it’s the choice of company.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 8:28 am I don’t see any issue with trying to get as much money in as possible. If you can find someone to sponsor something, go for it.
But yeah, obviously this was a bad choice of firm to ‘partner’ with. However, in prepared to reconsider if they announce a 20% discount in their stores for season ticket holders.
yes indeed.

The club needs income and quite honestly sponsorship is vital to a well run club. If you are so concerned about this how much will you be prepared to pay, or better still, raise.
Team doing well, crowds returning, goals being scored what more do you want? Remember where we were before Nigel and Kent came on board and then ask Oldham fans what they’d prefer sponsorship or bankruptcy
you know cash converters is an Aussie company .Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 3:29 pmSilly commentWinchesterfan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 1:49 pmyes indeed.

I’m happy for you to have an opinion, I just think it’s a very silly one.Winchesterfan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 4:02 pm Silly comment? Silly response !
You have your opinion, I have mine.
I agree to disagree
Disagree. Dream team was a fun sponsor that helped raise the profile of the club while we were in the National League.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 1:14 pm Still not as bad as all the poker firms under Hearn, or The Sun the other year.

There's something not right about the club selling itself out for this company, like others did with Wonga.
Now that's a different idea, I got no complaints about that, anything that would send the loony left into meltdown. such fun.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 4:41 pmI’m happy for you to have an opinion, I just think it’s a very silly one.Winchesterfan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 4:02 pm Silly comment? It’s a false equivalence that because the owners aren’t as bad as the mad Italians that nothing they do can be questioned.
Would you be comfortable with the new ‘National Front North Stand’? As long as they stumped up enough cash and it was agreed by Nigel and kent?
(P.s I know some of you would be fine with it)
I imagine Cash Converters would also defend themselves by saying they are a legitimate employer, that pays taxes and rates.LittleMate wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 7:43 am I really do not understand the high emotions on this thread. The sponsors are not immoral in what they do (no more so that a building maintenance business looking after local housing stock) and they have committed financially to the club. I don't ever remember saying, or hearing the stand referred to as the Tommy Johnston stand by another fan in the same way I don't hear the ground called the Breyer group stadium. Whomever sponsors it, I will continue to sit in the south stand at Brisbane Road and be happy that someone is senseless enough to cough up some cash in an attempt to try and change its name.
Another even sillier response. How can you compare the National Front with a legally trading company. Your comment is an insult to our owners and management and find it very hard to believe that any O’s fans would support the National Front and their abhorrent views.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 4:41 pmI’m happy for you to have an opinion, I just think it’s a very silly one.Winchesterfan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 4:02 pm Silly comment? The club paint themselves to be a club for the community. Where a week ago, this was on the website https://www.leytonorient.com/2021/09/03 ... g-the-hub/. Donating to local food banks that feed the poor. Those same families who need the help from food banks are the ones most often the people who are forced to sell their possesions for a disgustingly knocked down rate. The APR on their pawnbroking is 155.8%.LittleMate wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 7:43 am I really do not understand the high emotions on this thread. It's a bit of a seedy business, but so are a fair number of businesses. Cash converters is a place of last resort for many, for sure, but its not the company but the social and economic system that forces people to sell their possessions.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 9:32 amThe club paint themselves to be a club for the community. Still, as long as we’re all transparent and not the Italian.
