Things are certainly going that way
Just to suggest that is a real slur on the club and the people who work hard to bring in this sponsorship.

Tommy club are run by the Royal British Legion there is absolutely nothing wrong with helping injured service men and women from all eras.

As ever a complete over reaction from the boards resident :clown

Great work keeping Kane on board but why is every home shirt just a plain red top, is there no imagination any more?

Interested to see if there's a half decent GK kit available but until we get manager and players sorted not in any rush to order anything.

If the club see that the mods are likely to get a phone call. It could jeopardise any future involvement that Harry Kane has with the club.

Why should the picture be taken down ?

Nigel Travis believes in a question culture .
You have the right to question everything within the club .

It allows Nigel Kent & all others at the club to see that a section of fans may
Not be happy with the club supporting veterans .

Hospital charities mental health etc all fine & good & applause rightly given .

Soldiers are not what everyone would want sponsorship money to go to .
If the club wont tolerate racism & bigotry , why wont they allow the view
That many Irish people in waltham forest who grew up supoorting
The O's may find this sponsorship highly Offensive .

Or do the Irish Not matter ?
Are they not Important enough to be worried about ?

Joe Elwood
Catholic From Belfast ex Player
Tony "Paddy" Grealish Irish International
David Mooney Irish

Should i name some more ?

Good post.
Cheers Wum .

Im Catholic Irish born in Belfast ,

I was going to let it slide but the bigoted posts about James McClean &
The usual suspects being triggered meant i couldnt let it go.without airing an opinion

Let me state i have nothing against honest soldiers .
They are brave if not slightly mad for wanting to be involved with what
Armies do . It is what armies are used for & by those who use them & against who they are used
That my problem comes from

There are cases ongoing against soldiers who would be in there 70s now involved in the
murder of innocent Irish people as well as some who were not so innocent .

I have people in my family who have been killed by British soldiers
I have friends who have family members who have been killed by soldiers .

I also have freinds who were killed by nationalist & unionist paramilitaries .

None of them would be welcomed in my house !

I really am considering whether i want to support a club that talks of standing upto bigotry
But then does this with sponsorship .

Soldiers & Wars lead to innocent people & Guilty people dying before they should .

I think the club will benefit short term from this .
I'm not so sure what it will do long term .

If it was given to keep World war 1 soldiers i wouldnt have a problem as per the clubs History .
But unfortunately all of those have now passed on .

I dont think i am wums

If you can offend the Irish or Afghans ( i know it was a joke ) ,
For a sponsorship thing & not care
Then you can offend the Jewish with a swastika or maybe offend balck people
With a Ship going to a sugar plantation or just straight to Tate & Lyle .

Where it starts is as impotant as where it stops .

No Jews
No Blacks
No Dogs
No Irish .

See my point ?

Sorry, was talking to Aylesburyos. I agree with your points.

The people attracted to this sort of sponsor are also some of the people who hate jews (and irish).

Tuffs, what about the thousands of Irish soldiers that fought and died in both world wars? They volunteered to fight in both the conflicts.
What happened to the Irish people at the hands of the British government after the war was a terrible slur on Westminster.
The two wars were totally different in their origins. WW1 was fought because the super powers, at the time, Britain, Germany and the
Austro-Hungarian empire all got mixed up in it after the assassination of the Arch Duke Ferdinand, and their respective Royal Families
could not or would not stop the ensuing hell that resulted, all blood payed for by the common working man.

WW2 was simply to stop a crazed megalomaniac from taking over the world along with Japan.

Just as an aside, I wonder if coyos got a lazy lob on after doctoring HK's picture. :xxx

The mocked up picture is satire. Just a parody of the clubs willingness to be associated with war and militarism. Not sure why it's upset so many.
And I thought Dream Team was bad, 2 years ago lol
