I see Rory Stewart has admitted smoking opium. What is it with Tories and their Victorian obsession?

I always thought he looked very haggard !!
Well he is a human being and it must be stressful when working in these war zones so perhaps you may well do things when under stress that you would not do back in the UK.

''A Tory leadership candidate has told Sky News he made a "very stupid mistake" to smoke opium while travelling in Iran.
Rory Stewart admitted it was against the law when he tried the drug abroad, which is a treated as a Class A in Britain.''

''The international development secretary confessed in an interview with the Daily Telegraph to taking a puff on an opium pipe 15 years ago at a wedding. "But it may be that the family was so poor they put very little opium in the pipe."
Having served as a governor in Iraq during the war there, Mr Stewart apologised for smoking the drug.''

"I actually went on in Iran to see the damage that opium is doing to communities," he told Sky News. "I made a stupid mistake - I was at a wedding in a large community meeting and somebody passed round this pipe and I smoked it.'' "I shouldn't have done it, it was wrong."

Quite like the sound of 3rd Dan Black Belt Raab
I don’t see why someone who is not so famous i.e Boris
Could get the gig,
Boris is a Bufoon, his personal life stinks of someone who cannot not be trusted, I’m astonished people haven’t realised this, he’s Ok showing a few guests around London,
World Statesman never,
Trump loves him as he could bend & shape him, but that’s not the point is it.

So even on a left wing majority forum, Boris is doing quite well despite all the negatives press about him both now and in his distant past.
