You may be right about Gillingham, but it was deffo Stannard.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 9:04 pmIs that definitely right? In 1995/96 Gillingham won 1-0 at our place and we drew 1-1 at theirs (Andy Arnott injury time equaliser with resultant head gash). According to Wiki Stannard stayed with Gills in the league above for the next few years.LittleMate wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 8:51 pmHansen scored with his arse from at least 25 yards. I don't recall another goal scored with an arse, but the Scott Houghton one was against Northwich Victoria in the FA Cup, the goalie was Lance Key. It was live on Sky:

The time when Ian Juryeff picked up the ball about 20 yards from our goal, ran the full length of the pitch, only to collapse in a heap from
exhaustion before getting his shot away. Never forgotten that.

Hansens one was up the other end, towards the north stand, i'm sure of it. I mean I was only about 10 tbf so may have made it up.

Dave Hansons was v Barnet - last home game of the season 95-96. 3-3 draw. 42 minutes in on this:

So not any of those things, as it turned out from the video! Edge of the area, not Jim Stannard (never played for Barnet) and it clearly hit him front on in the chest.LittleMate wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 8:51 pmHansen scored with his arse from at least 25 yards. Possibly you conflated his and Houghton's?

Back in about ‘78, first home game of the season was a Tuesday night game v Sunderland. Bill Roffey got into an altercation with Sunderland’s Wayne Entwhistle near the old dugouts. Entwhistle swung at Roffey who blocked it and then chinned Entwhistle with a left uppercut that lifted both his feet off the turf and laid him flat out on his back. Roffey just walked off without even waiting for the red card. Entwhistle was carried off on a stretcher and treated at the side of the pitch. When he came around a couple of minutes later, the linesman signalled, the ref stopped the game, went over and showed him the red card. Marvellous. Think we won too.

I remember that. He was smiling all the way off the pitch.Stowaway wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 4:49 pm Back in about ‘78, first home game of the season was a Tuesday night game v Sunderland. Around that time I was at a game when all the attention was at one end of the ground, where an altercation was taking place. By chance I happened to look down the other end where our defender wandered over to the opposing forward and smacked him in the mouth. Forward went down and as our guy withdrew, started protesting to the ref and linesman. They hadn't seen anything and no-one in the crowd knew what happened. Think I was the only person in the ground who saw it.
Sadly I have no idea of the who, what or when.

3-0 that night to go top, then cocked it up by losing 1-0 at home to Wrexham the following Saturday.
I seem to remember it was on the half way line in front of the West side.

I also remember in 89 against Cambridge Mark Cooper missed an absolute sitter in front of south terrace. Mate of mine who was a Everton fan couldn’t believe how bad he was.

Anyone recall that corner taken by Josh Wright down at the south stand a few years back (must have been when he was here on loan). He strode up to strike the ball, but managed to somehow kick the corner flagpole first, before toeing the ball a few yards along the ground and it trickled out for a goal kick.

In the East Stand someone threw their season ticket onto the pitch in the Slade Era.
