Re: Exiles Early Kick Off Thread.
Except Widdowson was perfectly fine at LB but now looks lost changed to a CB. We've signed a young CB and pushed him to RB after one game, asking a lot of a U23 player with no first-team experience.
Be interested to hear what's happened to Thomas and Judd, was it mentioned pre-match at all?

Honestly this season has already been terrible. Played 8, only won 5, drawn 2 and already lost a game. About to lose another.
I'm burning my audio ticket.

ignore pointless cups, W1 D2 L2 is the stat that counts

Re: Exiles Early Kick Off Thread.
I think it's obvious what's happened - Judd not recovered from his injury last week and Thomas slow to recover/not back up to speed yet. The fact Akinola started over Ling should be enough to stop the Judd conspiracists for a day or two.gshaw wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 8:47 pmExcept Widdowson was perfectly fine at LB but now looks lost changed to a CB. Well why not pick up another load of bookings for no reason at all. That’ll help. Dopey buggers.

Re: Exiles Early Kick Off Thread.
McAnuff put most of our players to shame showed more desire drive and fitness at 39 than players ten years younger. Wright and Dayton contributed the square root of f--- all.

Re: Exiles Early Kick Off Thread.
Four without a win in the league now. And we could easily have lost that 4-0. Our goal was an absolute gift and they missed a penalty and hit the post. Our defence is a shambles and with three quarters of it tonight playing out of position, that is hardly a surprise.

So we've lost 2 in 5 and (admittedly the same old pant5hitters) are losing it? It's not the season for that. Give it a month or two, we'll be fine.

Re: Exiles Early Kick Off Thread.
Missed the first half entirely.
The camera angle was really close up, was impossible to get an overview of the game, although it did show just how quick it is out there.
Looked like our formation was 4-2-2-2?
Jobi MOTM yet again. I know he can’t play 2 a week but he’s quicker and livelier than any one else in our midfield (as well as being a much better player, obviously).
The front two were playing off scraps. It’s all a bit meh.
Their 15 was a great little player, darent think what he would have done to ling if he’d started. Akinola played him well.

I’ve watched all the streams other than the first half today.
If by fine, you mean avoiding relegation, then yeah, we probably will. If you mean contending for promotion, ha ha.

I can’t help thinking about Derek Adams at Morecambe . Experienced manager who comes in and steadies to ship . Look at them now. Their currently top of the league

I'd probably describe contending for promotion as more than 'fine', Ronnie.
We'll be about 13th - 15th and then need to do a clear out and build something better. See if we can sign Jobi up for another 5 years.

Re: Exiles Early Kick Off Thread.
It's baffling
Widdowson is the best left back
The west ham lad is obviously not really a right back
Dayton is in a league too high for him
What does Wilkinson actually do, also so one footed, all the defender has to do is show him the line get him on his right
You could see towards the end coulson, mcnuff, widdowson where getting really annoyed

13th - 15th is not fine imo, and I hope not in T&Ts either.
Ling and Ross have a top budget in this division. The league position should reflect that. It won’t.

Brophy is our best left back by some way.essexfootball wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 9:17 pm It's baffling

Re: Exiles Early Kick Off Thread.
It probably is this year. I know you'll say this is ridiculous, but it isn't - if we are competing for a player with Walsall and can offer them a grand a week and WFC do as well, we are genuinely disadvantaged by being so ridiculously expensive to live near. They could live bang in Birmingham and play for WFC and live much more comfortably. So as much as I agree that counts, its not the be all and end all.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 9:18 pm 13th - 15th is not fine imo, and I hope not in T&Ts either.

Feel sad it's such a stress for you and others. It's not supposed to be like that.
