Absolutely nothing.
How would you feel if they said they were depressed &
felt suicidal , but couldnt tell you why ?
How are the two things linked?
If a child isnt sure what it is , then surely
the child could become suicidal because of it .

If it was a physical gene muck up like a hair lip
then it would get dealt with medically would it not ?

If it was an x y gene muck up it would just be left to
deal with it .

Kind of agree. All this is down to age. At 8 i could barely tie my own shoe laces. I would not have had the first clue there was even such a thing as trans or different genders. At that age it is learnt behaviour only and I would also ask them or speak to the school about where they are getting this information from. 11+ it’s a different story.

Any evidence being trans is a 'genetic muck up'?

What other genetic muckups would you cure medically?

Yes agree with you that this transgender issue is not as straight forward as some might like to think. From my experiences in life, I do not believe for one minute that It is just down to children and young people watching videos and reading articles on the internet. Here is an interesting link

Yes that's the spirit. Sweep it all under the carpet and pretend it doesn't exist because you don't have an ounce of humanity in you that would allow you to think that maybe everyone just isn't the same as youse. Morons.

I have a gene defect myself .
X-linked Ichthyosis , a chronic skin condition ,
Female y carries it, male x gets it .

I have done a hell of a lot of research in the last few years with regards
To genetic profiles ,
1 recent discovery which i found out about through Cardiff University
Is the lack of the STS Gene common in x-linked sufferers. Which is important in brain development.

Sts is also missing from many who have autism.
When i was a baby being treated for something different
The specialist at The Royal Victoria suggested i may be on the autistic spectrum.

People who know me would laugh at that, but ive worked very hard at being around people .

You didn't know about it because it wasn't an issue for you. Kids are very aware of gender and gender expectations, if you don't match with others it is very obvious to them, even if they don't know why. It is our responsibility to make them feel safe and welcome regardless

So how do you explain the explosion in referrals to this clinic? Believe it's gone from double figures to four figures a year.

There's gender roles then there's pumping hormones into children

I wanted a polly pocket and one of them babies that ate the food when I was a kid. Thankfully my parents didn't take the illogical next step of blocking my puberty

I would think mainly that in general people are becoming much more accepting that it's an issue that needs support and the idea and the idea that it's best to tell your kid to shiut up and sign them up for a rugby club is slowly on the decline.

Also, if you have any understanding of maths you'd consider the relevance of exponential growth from such a low starting point and look at prevalence instead, which shows that 0.01% of the child population are referred to a gender identity service.

Little known fact, but there's two doors at the front of the Tavistock, one with a pink handle and one that's blue. There's anaesthetists hiding behind the door and any girl that goes though the blue door has a needle in her arm and her fanny sucked inside out before she can blink. That's what I heard.

People may be accepting it but it doesn't make it right, even in such small numbers.

One problem is that parents are powerless whether they are accepting or not.
