Orient did not have a team to play,
Here it is, matey.

Just take a big breath. Hold your hands up. Say out loud 'I got it wrong, sorry'. It will not kill you. It may even make you feel better...

Edit my quote and make it appear very different to what I actually posted if it makes you feel good.

The simple fact is Orient were unable to fulfill the fixture on Tuesday night.

How have I edited your quote?

Come on, big breaths, let's get it over with. You've got this.

Here is Rule
5.2.2  any requirements or directions of the UK Government and/or by any public authority,

the fixture shall be abandoned, each Club shall bear its own costs and neither Club shall progress to the next round. Where this results in an uneven number of Clubs being entered into the next round, the Management Committee shall arrange for byes where necessary.

Try not quoting things edited and out of context to make it seem like it is something different to what it is

....

What has 5.2.2 got to do with anything. That rule applies where BOTH sides are unable to fulfill the fixture because BOTH sides have players testing positive
.2 If both Clubs are unable to fulfil their obligation to complete a Competition match in Round One to (and including) Round Four due to either:

5.2.1 both Club’s Player(s) having returned a positive CAT result and self-isolating in accordance with the action plan set out in the Return to Play/Return to Training Protocols resulting in both Clubs not having a sufficient number of Players to fulfil the fixture; or

5.2.2
You claim the Ground was closed by Public Health & we could not use the ground because Public Helth deemd it unsafe .

Public Health did not deem it safe or unsafe
LOFC closed the ground .

Just pointing out that it has not been decided
LOFC have been booted out of the competition .

It seems we were able to field a team for the match as Nigel said. PHE did not fail or close the ground the EFL stopped the game going ahead.
We as a club in being fair and co-operative have been punished by the EFL, whereas if we had stood by their chaotic and non excistent testing procedures (i dont think there is any) then we would have gone ahead and played the match, as other's from the EFL did.
If they tested every EFL club with the same tests we undertook before this weekend programme of league fixtures, i would doubt there would be many games as most clubs would fail.
On a purely financial standpoint maybe we were naive.

More or less impossible as midweek in a fortnight's time is for international games and Spurs will have players involved. If Spurs go through to group stages of Europa League, there are no midweeks available for the rest of the year. And also Chelsea have no midweeks available thanks to Champions League. Also UEFA don't like domestic games involving top level teams taking place when their games are on. Probably nothing EFL can do.

That changed a couple of years ago I believe, so it could be done but there's no space in the calender for it I don't think. It would need Spurs and Chelsea to agree.

I couldn’t care less about the tinpot cup. I just want all the sufferers to get better soon and somebody to give us the same money as Sky were going to pay us. Maybe a cash transfer from Spurs or maybe a big brown bag from the EFL.

I got it right it seems.

The "fictitious" team from Tuesday had vanished by Thursday it seems

Why would the club have a fictitious team ready to play?

You've got this backwards.

So what would they have done if they were permitted to play?

More credible that they had an XI who would have undoubtably lost but secured the TV money. They don't want to play this XI in the league and squander 3 points. Although they stupidly are risking a points deduction.

Which is how we ended up in this situation - Ling (and to a lesser extent Macklin) have executive power to intervene if it looks like ignoring the safety imperative will actually further risk the financial situation, but neither of them had the wit or vision to see that risk. Ling was just simply asleep at the wheel. We'll get censured for this, and rightly so. The financial implications won't be good either. Short-termism costs, every time.

Although a number of people were showing symptoms the medical staff didn’t pick up on these apparently.
