Is there anything more Orient than drawing Spurs at home in the Cup during a pandemic when the vast majority of fans aren't allowed in and to then have the squad go down with the Covids and not even get to play them?

How can the efl allow the lower leagues to continue without paying them to test. We can’t play Northern teams in lockdown areas if neither sides players are being regularly tested. Any national lockdown rules will be pointless if every week 1000 plus players and staff are travelling around the country. It’s senseless

Obviously first thing is wishing the players well and their families, must be anxious times for them all and truth be told our last two opponents. Looks like our situation may well have been a bit of a wake-up call for other EFL clubs.

As regards the game I remember club saying the youth team are a separate bubble so if the game could be agreed to switch to Spurs then let them play it? For £100k+ even if they concede 15 goals it's worth playing.

Spurs would want the same Covid protocol that was in place for the first team for any side we could put out, it takes 48 hours to get test results so it wouldn't work. We are right royally screwed Im afraid.

If we’re going to be forced to forfeit the game anyway, we might as well play the youth at Tottenham and make a little bit of money out of it .

Leyton Orient dealt another devastating blow, we do seem to get more than our fair share of bad luck. Guessing we will have to forfeit the tie, I can't see any other solution.

If so and the club incurs massive costs it's not gonna incentivise anyone else to comply is it.

It is extraordinary. What if our players caught it at Oldham? - because the EFL doesn't force Oldham to test, it seems. If that were the case, then it's the EFL's rules (or lack of) that's caused the issue in the first place. I could understand a club being penalised if they've broken a rule, but not if they've followed them all (assuming that LOFC have done so)

Play the youth team, separate bubble apparently. Can’t turn down £150k in tv money regardless of what the final score is. The result is of secondary importance at the moment (then again the whole of sport is, but hey ho the powers that be wanted everyone to carry on with it during a pandemic , so here we are.)

Maybe the integrity of the competition will then match that of the organisation that runs it

Oldham have just announced that 2 of their players will no longer be a part of their first team squad. For reasons that can't be divulged

Maybe reading too much into it, but breaking Covid guidelines perhaps?

Update: he's being told to train with the kids, so that seems unlikely

It safe to go back to work ?

How can the EFL have its members at work in an unsafe enviroment . If they have said testing is not required , then claearly you are breaking government guidelines .

Surely there must be a legal loophole
we can sue the EFL for ?

Spurs would get the £100k+ off Sky then, not Orient as Spurs would be host club?

Better that than having to pay their costs and chances are they'd either share with us or donate part / whole to JE3
