I went to the four seasons in Florence a few years ago and we chose the tasting menu of about 9 course, and went with the wine pairings. The menu didnt have a price on and very much unlike me, I didnt ask. Suffice to say I had a shock at the end and the waiter asked me if i was in the restaurant business in London

Out of context this must seem a bit random. It’s from the Observer Food Monthly magazine. Regular feature, they interview a celebrity and talk about their career and/or food. There are always photos of what they ate and how much it cost.

He basically belittled me and my opinion. I don’t have any issue with anyone having an opposing opinion to me, as long as they can argue their point fairly and honestly and not resort to trying to make people feel inferior and ignorant.

Unless they are racists or xenophobia. Then it’s game on.
