They favoured experience over potential. If you have a talent at the club you find the money and the contract. Two years later who knows, happy days for Ruel and big money for the club.
That’s bullsh*t!
It certainly is .
Most of the best talent is at the premier league clubs
Then Championships then league 1 & 2 are normally
Left with the rest.
The rest have potential but are a long way off ever
making it to the top
You just need to go to career statistics to see that info
They are decent figures for a kid moving into men's football, he can only play at the level his loan dictates, six goals in twelve league two games last season is pretty good no?
9 goals in 12 games are incredible figures . ( dover & back to us)
8 goals in 22 games (pre dover)
at a very low level isnt much to be pulling up trees.
Its not bad but its not stardom here i come .
Again lots of people saying you could just tell
No i dont think you can .
Erm, Embleton should be able to just tell. It's his job.
I remember seeing him in brief appearances bloody years ago when he was really young and it was obvious he had something then.

I saw it to
But ive not seen whats behind
although i have heard a rumour there is a kid banging in goals for fun who is maybe 17.
Ruel out on loan to the 4 clubs before Dover wasnt really tearing it up.
8 in 22 isnt tearing it up
Its O.K .
However since Dover he has 9 from 12 starts .
I saw Jamie Cureton score a Sh*t load of goals all over the shop , he comes to Orient & OH DEAR.

While I'd like him to stay it wouldn't be the end of the world if he went.
Maybe we're just clutching at straws cos it was a crapola season and Ruel was somewhat of a shining light.
If he was given the number 9 shirt and named the main man for next season we'd all moan that he's too young and unproven for this level for such responsibility.
Really can't win with this and definitely not worth losing sleep over.
Same with Marvin as well.

Ross does seem to favour senior donkeys *cough*, sorry, pro's. Ogie, Sweeney, Shabani and to a lesser extent Kyprianou and Sotiriou have been left kicking their heels whilst those in front of them turn in absolute dross.

Maybe there's a middle ground between naming him as your star striker, and never ever playing him?
As it happens, I'm pretty sure that given a full season, he would be the main man at the end of 2020/21.

Embleton slagged Ogie off in a post match interview too.

Correct. Slagging off the yoof is unforgivable. They need building up not knocking down in public.
Says a lot about Ross I am afraid.

We have to remember that RE and others have seen Ruel and the kids above play against the 'senior donkeys' in training. If they cant impress against these pro's, perhaps it is judged that they would not shine in the real rough stuff games in L2.
Only Kyprianou has been mentioned by management as having real potential last season. The others, not at all.

I think Ruel has been out on loan Seven times in the last two years, for me he gives us pace and a directness we haven't got in any other forward players. The error I think was made last season only giving him a years contract. Surely the coaching staff could have seen enough in him to give him 2 or 3 years. Resigning Alabi and not giving Ruel a longer contract looked a bad idea at the time and I suspect getting farmed out again to Dover and having a manager in Hessanthaler who believed in him opened his eyes a bit.
Be very surprised if he stays. Marvin as said elsewhere is replaceable possibly a bit part player in a League One squad at best.
@Top of the JES
I have noticed that you place some very good comments, well done for your input.

You obviously need a good mix of experience and cant throw 5 youth players out there if you dont think they are ready but Ruels situation is a different.
He was up against next to no competition.
Angol - started alright but didnt really score that much and then got injured for a whole.
Wilkinson - Never really looked good in front of goal and then decided he was a winger.
Alabi - scored about 4 goals for us in about 60 games. useless.
Dennis - Not really a striker, came in unfit and then disappeared.
So why was he not even given a chance at the start of the season? And to rub salt into the wound we brought in a bloke who hadn't scored an English league goal in his life and a kid from Spurs who had a bad injury to push him further down the pecking order. If anyone thinks RE and ML rate him they should look at the facts.

The problem is, if we are honest, Embleton & Ling are both f*cking useless, and we will never amount to much with those two here.
Players of quality wont sign for those two....they dont inspire anyone.
If Justin was still here, Ruel and big Marv would both have signed, i expect

You are entitled to your opinion but not many agree with you - except maybe on this MB

A world of difference in how old Hess seemed to treat young Ruell when he was at Dover. Ross seems to come across as rather immature and not suited to being the manager. I shall be very pleased to be proved wrong if he does achieve anything whilst being manager ( Head coach, call the job what you like ! ) of Leyton Orient.

McAnuff and Ogie extensions announced... club delivering the good news to soften the blow of what comes next?
Marvin and Ruel not signing up is not a disaster. Better more experienced players out there.
