Hold on. So Crilly lives in a palace, has a superyatch moored down in Monaco, and moves between the two in a private helicopter? Who would have guessed? Bet he’s also got one of those apex road tw*t top dollar Range Rover’s too
Just had a message from my local that upon opening, they will only be taking payment via an App called QTap.
I've never heard of this before; but apparently it involves taking your payment directly from your bank account. Obviously, this means thst you have to provide them with both your personal and bank details. No way that's going to happen - so I guess I'll remain alcohol free.
As an aside, I'm sure that this process will work swimmingly. I can't imagine anyone kicking off that they've paid for a round that hasn't been delivered; waited too long, or that they've been brought the wrong drinks, etc. Whilst the poor bar staff are sorting these problems out, queues will inevitably develop.
I can just foresee this being utter carnage. Not least because you'll also potentially have the morons of society wanting to get pissed ASAP next Weekend.

My local landlord say he will be taking names and addresses of punters before they enter the pub , tables will be allocated to all drinkers , no drinking at the bar although you can purchase your drink for cash at the bar think I will wait a while before I visit again .

My local requires you to book online, specifying how long you wish to have a table for (max 2.5 hours). You can select from their range of sourdough pizzas and craft beers via an app, and it's all delivered straight to your table by a geezer in dungarees with a beard and tattoos. You cam either have the payment deducted from your debit card, or added to your mortgage.
I wasn’t going to and I’ve been against it for a while but today I booked a table at a local for Saturday. I’ve had less social distancing on public transport and in supermarkets in the last 3 months than will be in the pub. It’s more than just being ‘desperate for a pint’, it’s being able to have some sort of normality and being able to have a pint with your mates. I’ll be going to Gaucho for lunch on Sunday too. I’ve sacrificed a lot since March, I want to do some things that make me happy.
I can’t see how booking a table and getting table service is sucking the fun out of going to the pub. It won’t be rammed with coked up fannies standing at the bar and giving you grief. Also, I don’t have to go and get a round in.
A mate of mine who lives near Muswell hill tells me he has been drinking today and most days in his local British Legion club , he says no changes are planned when it legally opens on Saturday , madness if you ask me .
No chance of me going near a pub for a long while yet, mind you, being teetotal influences decisions.
Can see most beer gardens being like Bournemouth beach was, do people really need a drink that much?
Wasn't always teetotal mind and loved a beer/wine in unhealthy quantities but even if I was still drinking, current situation puts pubs off-limits, surely?
Suppose it depends how scrupulous the landlords are.
If it's done a booking only and then you get assigned a table that's apart from other tables (preferably outside) and drinks are table service then I can see it working
If it's come all ye faithful to a cramped Spoons where everyone is pissed up and not much gets enforced maybe not.

Blimey if you get one case in your average legion club it'll be carnage.
