That well known egg chasing anthem 'Swing low sweet chariot' is under scrutiny as it was written by a slave.
Then why aren’t we celebrating his creativity?

It is because different people have different views on it.

OK, the news says that 'Gone With The Wind' is being removed from the playlist for HBO Max because it depicted "ethnic and racial prejudices".
I think this is bonkers but what are your suggestions for other films that should be 'removed'?
Hattie McDaniel was the first black woman in history to win an Oscar for her role as a maid in" Gone with the Wind" .

I thought he was superb as Jeremy Thorpe in the movie about the Norman Scott case - first time I've ever seen him in something and didn't think "that's just Hugh Grant playing.....".

I see that there is a call this morning for The Masters to change its name due to the fact that there used to be slave masters in the Deep South.

Uncle Ben's rice packets are the latest thing to be looked at.
Uncle Ben's rice changes name to more 'equitable' brand.

Any danger we might have to change our club name? I understand that the word "Orient" is offensive to those of Chinese origin.

Wrong, as usual.

"From 1946-2020, Uncle Ben's products carried the image of an elderly African-American man dressed in a bow tie, which is said to have been based on a Chicago maître d'hôtel named Frank Brown.[14][15] According to Mars, Uncle Ben was an African-American rice grower known for the quality of his rice. Gordon L. Harwell, an entrepreneur who had supplied rice to the armed forces in World War II, chose the name Uncle Ben's as a means to expand his marketing efforts to the general public. "

A Maitre D ( Master of the house)
