Something done in other countries where they have been more successful in limiting the spread of the virus and I understand something already under consideration by the government and local government officials, that is if they have the guts to enforce such a move !
Agree 100% Sid. Wouldn't bother me wearing the Mask, which I do everytime I go out at least once a day, along with the surgical gloves This virus ain't gonna go away, I believe the mask wearing should be compulsory for all ages
I would hazard a guess that the reason that it’s not been made compulsory is due to a lack of them in this country and no other reason. It would appear reasonable to conclude that the government struggled to obtain enough for the NHS, so asking the public to start wearing them and obtaining them thus depriving or potentially depriving the NHS would not be a good look for the government.

Plenty of choice on ebay, amazon to name just a few places to purchase PPE equipment supplied from all over the world and as far as i know, dont think the NHS buys PPE from ebay, amazon etc ! I purchased my PPE in my small local building supplies shop back end of February this year and my 92 year old cousin even purchased face masks from her local chemist. Surely better for people to purchase and wear their own PPE and practice social distancing when out of their homes, if everyone did it, then the chances are that far fewer people would catch this virus thus fewer lives would be lost and the NHS would not be needing anywhere as much PPE themselves as far fewer people would be needing treatment for this awful virus. So surely a WIN WIN outcome.

If this virus eventually starts to fade away, worldwide ( let us all hope it does ) then it will be back to Lefties back-biting about Brexit and Labour losing the December 2019 general election.

I see that old Thor is still willfully misunderstanding the difference between PPE and facecoverings. Maybe this simple guide to making your own will help.

I think that if they want people want to wear masks they should try and make them more individual, put slogans on, get campaigns going etc. Why are the media not into this? The papers should hand them out, "Help the NHS", "Stop the Virus", "Save the care homes", anything to brighten things up, they could even have special blue ones for Tory supports with "Save our Boris" on them, they would be very distinctive with the built in blinkers.
