I don't think anyone on here is insisting the season must be finished, but I do think a "normal" 2020-21 season is highly unlikely.

Contracts or deals done with other clubs only after registrations are dealt with.

Players in the 70’s didn’t have summer jobs and their pay was not reduced then either.
I’m not gilso either. There is more chance of you being a Tory than of me being Gilso, and that’s not a slight on Andy either.

It's being reported that over 1,000 players in the EFL have contracts which expire on the 30th June. This is going to be a massive problem and a challenge to overcome potentially.

It has been reported that over 12,000 people in the UK have lives which have expired since 1st March. This is a massive tragedy and a huge challenge for their families to overcome emotionally.
Who cares about EFL contracts!

how can football ever be the same when players are earning vast amounts of money
doctors nurses menial workers and especially care home workers
who have to look after the elderly for peanuts.
me thinks there will have to be big changes after the coronavirus is over.
after all what are footballers wort over nurses care workers dustman bus drivers
supermarket workers and many more f..k all.

Agree with everything you say.
But money and the rich always win. When the dust settles, it will all go back to normal. The true heroes being trounced on and the rich, who we could all live without, will prosper, probably even more.

The hidden heroes of this crisis will turn out to be the bankers,brokers,hedge fund managers etc who have selfishly been working behind the scenes to line their pockets.Boris will also reward them no doubt financially and give NHS staff shop workers lorry drivers etc a well deserved medal

Both, really. You repeated what I'd reported upthread, so I was agreeing.
I'm very happy that Rovers are Champions and are promoted. I would have been very sad if the matches of 14th March had gone ahead, and Falkirk had leapfrogged Rovers to the top and were now being promoted and Champions.
But as is it, Rovers have scored more points per game than anyone else in the division, so they're Champions. I'd have preferred to be Champions after 36 games and celebrated at Falkirk on the last day, but we can't, because of the virus.

I think that this season will eventually come down to the answer to the following question, especially if remaining games cannot be completed by the time that players start going out of contract, i.e. 30th June :-
Does the number of games played to date constitute a 'fair' competition?
Yes then current positions stand.
No then season is voided

They have written to all clubs under to tell them training can resume 16/5 in preparedness for the League to resume in June. All games to be played behind closed doors and either televised or live streamed.
This will mean a major loss of revenue for all clubs and you would think some won't survive it also after reading Jobis comments last week I'm not sure the players will have the appetite for it at the moment.
