So what should he say when Dave asks him? 'No comment' ?
Just say we're working on it and hope to see some movement in the near future. Going for the under promise/over deliver approach rather than over promise/under deliver, which has been a common theme this season.
This approach is the right one.

Its a typical Ling trait to sign players at the end of the window/summer, he has always done that, presumably to save wages?

Its not just Ling though is it? All teams do it. The transfer window might as well be a weekend as the vast majority of deals get done in the last couple of days.
Played on the left for us more than the right before he became emergency CM. Could be argued JMD has now ended up there so any winger will do
No he ain’t
Please get a more central unrestricted view next season I’m getting fed up now of your cock ups
I present to you exhibit A, had a pretty good view of this one

Before today we'd already made signings on Jan 2 and 17 (and extended Marsh's loan on Jan 6). In case you hadn't noticed, most business gets done at the end of the window (mostly on deadline day). Mainly because negotiations take time and players we were looking at only became available later in the month. hth

Jobi has played his entire career as a left winger. He’s famous for it, being right footed and cutting in rather than going on the outside.
It’s embarrassing that people don’t know this.

Yes, Wumble, that is correct. Robert Snodgrass was all set to sign for us from Livingston, I believe, but at the 11th hour and
50th minute Leeds United came in with a better offer for him and, as they say, the rest is history.
