Any leader who comes up with a manifesto such as this will suffer the same fate at the hands of the establishment.

Re: Andrew Neil Calls out Johnson
As I repeatedly said. BJ chose his election strategy and that did not include voluntarily facing a car crash interview on TV with Neil.
Looks like BJ made the right choice as he and the Tories have won a majority whilst Labour have crashed to its worst result since I believe 1935. Tory choices have been proven to be more successful overall in this campaign than the Labour ones

In terms of seats, yes. No denying 203 is a disastrous return for the party. But in terms of votes overall I believe they did better than in 2005 in 2005, and recorded a bigger share of votes than 2010 and 2015. But that’s straw clutching under the FPTP system, really.

It is indeed, slacker. The concentration of votes in fewer seats also suggests that they lacked wider appeal, which is what they will require if they are ever to govern.

Yeah, the Labour message got through to the metropolitan areas and Uni cities, but tanked in a lot of the provincial towns. “Get brexit done” was clearly an issue in some of these, but not the only 1, I reckon.

It's Brexit.
If they'd said they'd respect the referendum result, they would have lost less support to the lib dems than they actually did to the tories with their principled approach.

Was reading Paul Mason earlier.
Interesting stuff about the progressive educated generation having different values from the old pension drawing conservative minded Labour types. They will soon be dead.
Onward with the project I say. The new working class will be more radical than the old one who forever failed us.

Wishing people dead in order to be able to continue with your project, yes that figures. Stalin, Hitler, Mao Zedong and many more Dictators thought much the same.......... although of course they put their thoughts and wishes into action.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 11:20 pmWas reading Paul Mason earlier.

I'm not wishing anyone dead. Merely observing that time will take it's toll.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 11:48 pmWishing people dead in order to be able to continue with your project, yes that figures. Why you need to compare me to an assortment of mass murders defies comprehension. But then that's clearly not your strong point.

Re: Andrew Neil Calls out Johnson
Yes Boris Johnson's chief adviser ''Dominic Cummings'' made SO many errors !!
Jeremy Corbyn must be SO pleased that Dominic was not his chief advisor, I mean imagine the panic he would have felt if he had actually won the election !! Soon old ''Jezza'' can go back to doing what he likes doing best, being a left wing back bencher with little to no responsibility on his shoulders, free to once again go on his little pet projects as he did before being catapulted into the job as leader, a case of ''Be VERY careful of what you wish for''

Heh. I've called myself out on that one already Sid. FWIW, I think Cummings did make one or two errors, and got lucky a few times, but overall his approach worked. Credit where it's due.
It will be interesting to see what role he gets next. He's made it clear he wants to reallign the Conservative Party and smash Whitehall up.

Of course labour wants to extend the vote to 16 year olds who have been indoctrinated through our flawed educational system by lefty tutors. That and the overwhelming support of an ever increasing immigrant influx will eventually lead to a socialist victory and their desire to make everyone equal , with f*** all.

Re: Andrew Neil Calls out Johnson
Then the next good idea would be to become a one party state, I mean what is the point of voting for anyone else other than the ''Dear Leader'' !Redcard wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 9:58 am Of course labour wants to extend the vote to 16 year olds who have been indoctrinated through our flawed educational system by lefty tutors.
