Reality check

The tax thing sounds like a niche example. Its a distraction. A tiny hole made to sound like Labour is going to tax everybody who earns 14k.

£400 is a lot of money to someone on £14k. I never said that you are a Corbyn disciple, nor have I suggested that you think people 80k won’t pay more tax. I was just highlighting that there is a potential deduction for people as per the Andrew Neil example.
The money advisory service says he ave cost to power a home with gas and elec is £1,254 I’ve just looked it up so let’s use this figure. That’s 30% of their fuel bill taken away from them, fuel is one of the issues in this election and labour has a policy of renationalising the energy sector. Powering a home is important to everyone, with winter here to lose £400 quid which they will need to cut back elsewhere to pay their fuel bill suggests it’s a large amount.
Remember Labour want to reduce energy costs yet by taking that away it will make it harder for them to pay for their fuel as an example.
One would imagine that Andrew Neils imaginary well-off pensioner will soon be benefiting from an increase in their state pension and continued service from the NHS, so don't cry for them too much.
That is a different issue to the manifesto lie that no one earning under £80k will pay more tax
Lie? Grow up.

Definition of a Lie?
to say or write something that is not true in order to deceive someone
If the false and dishonest claim in the manifesto was not intended to deceive people, then why was it put there and why haven't labour tried to rectify the lie?
So, yes, it is a lie. No need to grow up. Us adults know what lies are and can call them out

I think they probably just didnt think of the scenario where a pensioner is living off dividends. Which is of course going to be a tiny minority of people, but thickos will read it as "anyone earning 14k has to pay £400 more tax", so job done I suppose.

FFS, I'm gonna have to go all spen about this.
Definition of earnings - the amount of money that someone is paid for working.
Therefore, dividend income, nor bank interest, nor capital gains, do not fall under this definition.
There is no lie.
But hey, let's keep on looking at the minutia of Labours manifesto whilst others get off scot free and sell the NHS from under us. Good work, guys.

No, the Labour party assetrted falsely that no one earning under £80k will pay more tax.
That is quite easily shown to be false.
The only people being thick are the Labour party for blatantly trying to lie to the electorate.

Sadly for you this is not true.
HMRC tax people on their income which included dividend income.
its also false to day the dividend income is not earned income. You earn it by holding the relevant shares at the relevant dates.

What HMRC tax people on, or not, is irrelevant.
Dividend income is not earnings. Earnings are defined as what you receive in exchange for the work you provide.
Whilst this game of spenantics must be great fun for you, you're kind of not seeing the bigger picture here.

But it is taken in to consideration to work out earnings and thus apply a tax rate to apply to the individual.
Don’t forget the married couple allowance will be withdrawn as well.

It don’t matter how you slice it, Corbyn was seen to be, let’s be kind, deceptive on a number of fronts and incompetent on others.
But nothing many of us knew already.
The sooner Labour get a new leader the better. Same goes for the Tories.

Really? When the issue is about income tax? HMRC being the body responsible for income tax
Think you are digging an ever deeper hole as you try to deny the lie labour told

But earnings - money received from work - are different to investment income - money received from investments held. This is basic stuff.

For all those boarders who say what will Neil do with BoJo? Don't hold your breath. Once again BoJo is frit. He has not confirmed that he will be grilled by Andrew Neil. He doesn't want a 20 car pile up. Yet people still have high regard for the Smirking, Lying, Devious Idiot.

While, abbot is the most stupid person ever to grace the front bench, corbyn is the most devious. He lies just about everything whether it’s not realizing a blatantly obvious anti Semitic Muriel was such , or to whom he was laying a wreath when going to Tunis honouring a terrorist murderer, or a foreword in an anti Semitic book, or his support or association with the I.r.a, so why the surprise when he is caught lying about his nonsensical manifesto which anyone bar the village idiot recognizes is just bullshit.
