If saying 'errr' before giving an answer is a sign of insecurity, then boy, there are a lot of insecure footballers out there.
The errs, um ahhhh and yes/no stuff is of no real consequence, not a sign of insecurity as you say Common, aids thinking time before responding, no big deal. What is a big deal are the words that follow that thinking time.
This for me is where the problem starts, not the words he may choose but message he is trying to convey.
But I have little doubt this aspect of his skill set will improve over time and his confidence will grow as we get those important wins under his belt.
I have little doubt his post match interview Saturday will be a whole lot better.

Well yes there are! Insecure or maybe not so sure of themselves when speaking. Which Fletcher is.
ahh, errr, umm !
Seems like many modern day footballers speak like that now, including David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Stephen Gerrard just for starters !
Do you not think that your overanalysing his interview a bit?
No, not really. I see as clear as day, a man not being 'his own man'.
Actually I could say to you, don't you think 'you're' exaggerating by suggesting his critic's are judging him purely on his elocution?
Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the man whatsoever. There is absolutely nothing personal. After all, it's not his fault he is too young and inexperienced - in my opinion - for this job. But, that can mean that further down the track it's not to say he won't blossom into a decent manager. But I don't think he will at this moment in time.

It is a bit odd how many are using his interview style, or lack of, as a stick to beat him with.
Just evaluating and voicing opinions as to how we see him as our new manager. I don't think anyone need get emotional in his defence. After all, I'm sure no one is "beating him with a stick".

To be fair I don't see too many carrots being offered.

I personally don’t give a jot about his interview style. Just interested in the content, the message, the direction. Early days so shouldn’t be too critical but I’d love to know what he really thinks.
I do. I would like our manager to come across as being sure of himself, which he doesn't. The errs and the ahhs make it a give away too. The content and message etc goes without saying.
Ever thought he might not be that use to cameras/microphones stuck in his face
As long as he starts getting results I don’t really give a jot how he comes over in interviews
Not everyone is enigmatic didn’t realise it was a crime mind you it’s the same usual bleaters whining
