Only if Brisbane Road is built over. Footprint of a 10,000 seater stand would be a lot bigger. Also would need to play elsewhere while it is built.

Why would Orient need to move to rebuild East Stand. Many clubs have rebuilt stands without moving out. It would mean a reduced capacity for a period whilst stand is being rebuilt.

East stand is 3,500 out of 9,000 seats, over a third of the capacity. Would reduce capacity to around 5,000 if away fan segregation is factored in. As it would take a season, and it would be happening when Orient would be in Championship, so a bit hit. Can't see Council allowing building over Brisbane Road. Would means loss of road / footpath, not the o mention unacceptable intrusion into properties in that road, eg light blocked out, noise, etc
Before the east stand is rebuilt, put a 2nd tier on the west stand. The south stand is designed to have a 2nd tier but not sure if possible with new buildings. This would add around 2.5-3,000 capacity, in the meantime. A new east stand would accommodate 5-6,000 potentially. Arsenal built over every existing road for their new stadium. Councils can be persuaded.
If memory serves the west stand design allowed for the future addition of a second tier. The club would need to do as Liverpool had to do and buy all the houses in Brisbane Road to even have a chance of building over Brisbane Road. You cannot block someone ability to enter their house, nor block their right of light, then there would be the Human Rights arguments about the householders right to respect for their family life. Arsenal had a lot of compulsory purchase of homes as well as businesses. Queensland Road was residential.
Hardly any houses fronting onto Brisbane Road that face the east stand. Its pointless debate as it isn't ever going to happen unless Orient buy up all the properties in the road which would cost £millions before any work started.

Also the West stand does not have the correct foundations for two tiers of seating the only stand that had foundations for a second tier is the south Stand. before Hearn decided to build flats butting up to the back of the South Stand the idea was to put on a Second tier when we became a championship club and it could pay for itself.

If you're T&T why would you pour in millions to develop stands you don't own, it's throwing money down the drain. Hearn's sneaky deals have made sure the future of BR only suits him.
If we want to move forward it won't be at BR imo. On a related note I've heard Hearn has upped the rent to £250k, be interested to know if that can be confirmed but you then start to see why the losses are still racking up despite all the new income Macklin has brought in.
