We spent last season saying we needed more goals from centre mid. Wright has provided that so far.

So has today finally confirmed that Alabi should be nowhere near a competitive football pitch with an Orient shirt on?

Harrold was 100 times more impactful

He gave Wright a 7.
How can you not give someone who scores two at least 7 ?
Because he was awful for the rest of the game.
Give me an awful player who scores 2 any time.

Yeah of course.

But he doesn’t score 2 goals every game.

That's why he doesn't get a 7 (or higher) every game...

Exactly. My point is we need better than Wright is currently delivering.

Of course !!
Let him continue to score 2 in every game this season and be......... awful !
Many mega big teams would pay big transfer fees for AWFUL players who would score lots of goals, no matter how scrappy they were !

Don't waste your time. He no doubt made up his mind ages ago that he doesn't like Wright. And nothing what the player does will ever change that.

You are correct of course. Wright has many who dislike him on this forum. Well I will take a player who scores goals, albeit if they are scrappy or lucky ones, they all count. Better that than a player who is UNLUCKY in front of goal and has many near misses !
Leyton Orient Top Scorers
Josh Wright. 4 Goals scored
Lee Angol. 3 Goals scored
Jordan Maguire-Drew 3 Goals scored
Conor Wilkinson 3 Goals scored

It’s nothing to do with ‘liking’ players.

Cannot understand this constant carping at Wright, last time or this time.

Constandt carping? Don’t be so dramatic.

He was our big signing over the summer, dropping down a division, he should be bossing games at this level for us.. He clearly isn’t.

Doing better than most so far in a team that is struggling to establish itself would be my verdict on Josh Wright.

‘Constant carping’ is the correct phrase. Just be honest - whatever he does you will find a way to denigrate it.

Of all the players to have digs at Wright really is an odd choice.

Ok, he’s not Messi but as it stands he’s the top scorer (from central midfield!) and is doing absolutely fine in a team which is seriously struggling.

I suspect certain people don’t like him due to family connections and so will have a pop regardless. The bloke scored two goals yesterday, including a last minute equaliser, to single him out for criticism is ridiculous.

The show of support for Embleton in the south stand after the game was a nice touch. He neither wanted nor asked for this job. He got it through his boss passing away and the owners asking him to try to handle an incredibly sensitive situation. He's bedded in the new players, has brought in the germ of a good playing style when we're lined up properly and has generally carried himself very well.
Good comment

Don’t understand the criticism of wright , he is a tidy midfield player who doesn’t hide, and to top it he is our leading scorer .
If anyone is to be singled out for underperforming then I would argue that Ekpiteta, widdowson, Dennis ,and coulson are more deserving.

Some people are very touchy with regards to Josh, aren’t they? It’s bizarre.

There are no ‘digs’ or ‘constant carping’ as some are whining about. I’ve merely commented that he was nowhere near our MOTM yesterday. He was no better or worse than Marsh or Clay, all 3 of them were below average.

The goals have obviously been really important for us and if he keeps on playing as he has - below par - and ends up with 15 goals, I’ll settle for that.

But you can’t excuse how’s he played so far. I’m sure he’d be the first to admit he hasn’t been playing as well as he can. (It’s totally understandable given his connection to Justin).

The amount of goals were conceding from range is as much his fault as the rest of the midfield.

Agreed with what you say. Other than two goals which were very welcome, he didn’t actually do anything else by way on controlling the game or tempo for our team.

This is my take on the Alabi situation.

Justin didn't fancy him as a player and it was agreed that he be best served elsewhere.

Ross takes over and ML says to Ross rehabilitate him back in the team. RE does as he's told to. ML wants to prove to people that JA is/was a good signing.

I like Alabi and under different formation and tactics he could work, but not how we setup and play he won't be. It's a shame, but sometimes a signing does not work out and he's one of them I'm afraid. His attitude can't be questioned, he's a true professional.
