Of course they can get booed, the same as if they perform well they get cheered.
But the majority of fans understand the unique situation we found ourselves in close season.
We couldn't appoint a new manager really, what a situation for him to walk into, it would have been nigh on impossible for him.
We went with either a Ross/Danny or a Danny/Ross partnership and they chose the former.
We have to allow a bit more time for things to turn round
As I've said, if Ross decides it's not for him then I am sure he'd make that known to Martin. But give him a chance. It really is the same usual suspects baying for blood. Seriously, let's come back in 10 games time and see where we are.

Stop getting emotional man,
This is a business of football we're in,
I still believe this team is good enough for the play offs under correct leadership,
Yes we are shocked at the pace & skill but all the same, we could challenge for the play offs.

I think it strange there are people actually inferring 2 millionaire businessman don't actually know what they're doing. I would trust their judgement tbh.
They won't be swayed by 50 or 60 vocal people on social media. They will be swayed by results overall, but they are mindful of everything that surrounded the appointment and the time needed to recover and adjust.
If they need to change things they will, but they are not trigger happy.
I would be amazed if Teague, Travis and Ling ever read an Orient forum never mind took any note of it. Also I doubt any of the management team nor the players would either.
That written, I do admin/moderating on other boards and have been accused of all sorts by a manager of a music act whom I won’t name. Apparently I was giving the press inside stories and saying unspeakable things to some of his staff. There wasn’t anything to back up his accusations, it was all nonsense. So I disassociated the forum from the official site and then let rip! Not got a free ticket since :-0

I hope some of you are extremely proud of yourselves.
Some of us knew it was a role Ross took for the benefit of the club, rather than it being one he had set his sights on. That being said we all hoped he would succeed and grow into and learn to love the role of being no1. However the level of vitriol and undermining especially on this forum has been a disgrace. The incident with his wife being berated seems to have proved to be the final straw for Ross. He is a thoroughly decent man, a good coach and most importantly a fellow O's fan. For him to have received the level of criticism he has its no surprise he has made it known he doesn't wish to continue.
Not a good day for the club. I hope you afford his successor more than 10 matches.

If true, the incident reflects on the idiot concerned, not Ross. He is clearly an honourable fella. However, it is an overstatement to say there has been vitriol on here. Apart from one occasional boarder, there had been no undermining of RE on here. The vast majority of boarders said to give him until Christmas.
What is worrying is there seems to be too much carping at fans for having an opinion and I don’t mean the clown who abused Mrs E.

Disoriented, sure have an opinion. It's just that some go too far. As I said earlier Ross would make it known to Martin if he felt it wasn't for him, and today he did just that. Very sad he wasn't given a bit longer but there you go, we move on and hopefully people will be a bit more patient with the new incumbent

Dohnut, I appreciate your point. Yes we've all had people pass away in our business and personal lives and as you say it's not easy. Obviously in some jobs the replacement has to be made immediately. I think we have a situation where its a very young workforce, not one that's a bit hardened by tragedy like us old farts, and they opted for the least upheaval, which I agree with.
You may be proved right long term and a change made, all I am saying is give them a chance and with half a season left then if a change is needed it's plenty of time to turn things around.
The path of least upheaval did, in my opinion, put Ross in an almost impossible position. I have no issue with Ross, an honourable young man who did his utmost in exceptional circumstances that ultimately proved too much. His action today has earned my respect.
The people who need to hold their hands up to getting it wrong are the senior management who, like you and I have no doubt experienced tragedies before.and should never have placed him in a near impossible position by appointing an experienced manager sympathetic to our situation and able to handle it with tact and compassion. With Ross as assistant helping maintain the continuity supporting colleauges through a difficult time. What Ross has achieved could have been done in an assistant role.

To be fair Doh , you cant blame senior Management in
Footy to any other buisness, especially one that had achieved a championsip title 5 weeks before the tragedy.
People committed to new contracts because of that man
They would run through a brick wall etc , Ross would to.
Not onky was Ross dealing wuth the club he was trying his damdest not to fail JE & His vision .
A new boss in would have got 60% from players just because of the upset .
Seriously if you tjink that is twaddle
Watch a few interviews with ex players about there time in football , its a real eye opener .
This one with Grant Holt by under the cosh is a good example of managers being complete areseholes & players reacting similarly arseholish .
Its a good indepth interview with a lot of nonsense & giggle story telling , but there are some real moments where you think , really what an idiot that he does that
As a manager.

Odd connecting the forum with the incident. Are they connected?
I hoped Ross Embleton would succeed and believed that after a fairly tough run against three teams currently riding high that results would improve.
On the whole, from what I read here there were reservations about him as a full time head coach, and concerns that if he continued in charge the ways things were going it could end in disaster.
I must admit I hate the generic use of "some of you". Is it directed at me? I don’t recall any vitriol or undermining in my posts, and I apologise if any were interpreted that way. I feel as if you are tarring everyone who posts on here with the same brush.

Andy you are 100% right. Now boarders have got their wish, they still aren't happy. Embleton's gone so let's get back to our old hobby of Ling bashing on another thread.
Where's the balanced views. We have one guy who was so into us that he has his own podcast & presented a radio show (not as good as your one ) & after just 10 games he's having a break from supporting us .
What's happened to supporting us through thick & thin? When I started supporting Orient, we were an established Division 2 club, within 4/5 years we were a not very good Division 4 team.
What's happened this season under the circumstances is absolutely nothing compared to those years & the Italian clowns era.

Maybe the person in question was getting trolled by people like you, and got fed up with it.
And incidentally, his radio show is a million times better than Andy's, in my opinion. It isn't a stooge to the club like Andy's programme is. I'm amazed Andy doesn't wear the knees of his trousers out at an amazing rate, such is the amount of crawling to the club and the official line.
Just my opinion of course

Or is this more bullshit from the usual suspects?
Why wouldn’t Ross have mentioned it if true?

Do you not accept that the criticism is warranted? It's not like he's new to the club. All the club decisions are done by committee, he would have been a part of all these players joining the club. He then had the pre-season and almost the first quarter of the season to play to the style/formation that he wanted. He's patently failed and the team looks very confused and disjointed. I'm sure he's a great bloke, coach, and a fan but does that really have any relevance in having him as the manager?
You could have given Ross another 10, 20, 30 games whatever, but he never looked like he really wanted to do this permanently and I think it showed in the teams performances. One thing everyone associated with the club has in common is that they want the club to be successful. Perhaps some are a bit too fervent in this, and some are too passive, but ultimately this was the right decision, even if you question the means.

Apparently it's true, on the orient podcast they said "it's a well known fan" well if they are well known or not they should be banned from our ground forthwith and never invited back. They are an absolute idiot, pure scum and don't deserve to follow our team or club.

Well I read that someone did go up to Mrs Embleton and in a non abusive way said "no offence, but your husband isn't up to the job".
Apparently in some people's eyes that's worth a life long ban from the club.

I wouldn’t be happy if one of my customers said that to my wife. What has she got to do with it? Fair enough to say it to his bosses, but not his family. No wonder Ross Embleton stood down.
Not worth a lifetime ban, but a rotten thing to say.

What I find sad is that there seems to be a load of aggression to fellow fans. Go on Twitter, and it seems very tense. I very much doubt people's opinions on social media had much to do with things, after all the knives were out for Davis and he clung on before he was sacked. I don't remember any such emotional defence of him, or aggressiveness to anyone that said he was clueless and a crap manager, but then again he was an outsider and had built no relationships here. We also had a similar level of slagging players at the end. Remember Jobi and 'it's not our fault'? He was right, as it turned out.
However, the incident with his wife may have had a bearing. Why don't people out the guy? Or get the club to revoke his season ticket?
There are of course the outlandish opinions of one or two, but this seems to be used as a platform for a bit of one-upmanship on anyone that wanted Ross out for the good of the club. Hidden among that were a lot of sensible people who wanted a change, entitled to their opinion.
TBH I was still backing Ross but admittedly there were not many games left before my patience ran out. The real problem is the defence and there are not many signs of lessons being learned whatever formation we are putting out. Either Ross doesn't have the skills, or the players aren't carrying out his instructions.
It seems he has recognised this and it is a very honourable thing to do, so he deserves appreciation for that.

Whilst I agree with their point of view, there’s just no need for it, is there? Same as those making the snidey ‘Good’ comments on here yesterday. I also bet this fan wouldn’t have dared say this to Ross’s dad or brother.

Steve's a good man, as are all his kids.
As Ross is a public person he will be judged on what he does, the results he achieves and how he handles himself as a representative of the club. Yes he can be challenged on his tactics or leadership and one can debate that. But, abusing his wife or family is a step too far in my opinon, it's just not on.
