Never mind about Alabi, I'm much more interested in how George Marsh played.

No one has ever queried his work ethic or how likeable he is.

From the stream bare in mind

Ogie looked good at left back, massive throw, looked a footballer, the volley to switch play was beautiful, I'd be tempted to start him
Marsh did everything tidy and simple but once Southend had 10 men he obviously wasn't breaking up play due to orient dominating, he looks unspectacular if solid, well which is what a ball winner is
Maguire drew lively and enjoying himself, ditto Dennis
Harrold worked hard, good foil, held the ball up well, unlucky not to score
Alabi is a conference player at best, how he has come on over Harrold is beyond baffling, I just don't get it, it's so obvious to anyone
Sargent did what he had to do well, one decent save and one quality save

It was a bit of an odd match, perhaps in keeping with an odd competition.

Thought Southend would play more first teamers in an effort to get some form going. They look in real trouble, and that type of sending off indicates players with no faith in the manager, similar to like Lockwood or Caprice getting sent off through pure frustration.

Ogie was perhaps the real positive from it. Strangely reckon we looked better against 11 men than 10, really suspected they might get a goal during their good spell. Gorman another positive, good goal and good pass for the first, but real stupid and lucky on the red card incident. I don't know if he meant to do the player, but I seem to remember huge uproar when a Boreham Wood player stamped on Koroma's ankle.

Alabi was probably fortunate that the transfer window closed yesterday. In my view we will be several League points worse off for having to play him instead of someone else. It's been a while since a player has been so liked at the club for performing so infrequently, I do not think Mooney would have been worse than him overall even at his age and League Two level.

Sotiriou could have made an impact like Ogie did, but we'll never know while Alabi is taking up space. Said it before but we are a way behind in that department and very vulnerable to an injury up front, I think Dennis is more of a winger or number 10 than a striker and although early days you can see why Wilkinson has only a modest scoring record at best at League level.

I don't think Salford will be up there, but they had Gaffney as reserve striker (now replaced by Jake Jervis). Either are way ahead of what we have.

Given this is the third time he's done it this season in just a handful of minutes on the pitch, what do you reckon?

Someone needs to have a strong word with the little shitbag.

I get it, you don't like him, that's fine but he did play the full game last night, hardly a "handful of minutes" or in another thread "Cameo". Midfielders will pick up bookings. I wouldn't be happy that he has picked up these bookings but seriously calling a player a "little shitbag", f*** me.

It worked though, didn't it? Probably a game winning contribution.

I've just watched the goals from last night . I've been a critic of Gorman's so I was very pleased to see he scored a very good goal last night . Please God its just the beginning of more good stuff coming from Dale . Anyway , well done Dale for last night's goal.
