Ross doing what any good manager would do .

Defend his players unequivocally.

Well played that man.

Starting to show some real quality as a leader.

Was a capable and committed Left-Back for us under Frank Clark back in the late to mid 80s

Played around 200 games iirc.

How far into the radio show were Dickos comments made?

Seems that the show made an apology for the comments, not sure if forced or not. Clearly bad relations are not desirable if they want star guests.

If someone goes on and says Alabi offers nothing up front and we should buy another striker and a panelist agrees, is that out of order and the club will be angry about it?

If they have to apologise, for someone who was connected to the club for many years, offering up an honest opinion; sounds like the club have too much control over the whole thing, which kind of renders it pointless.

Perhaps (and I didn't hear it), Dicko could have chosen his words more carefully....(maybe).

Surprised Gilso allowed it in the first place given that he's the No1 bootlicker at the club. Of course the apology confirms this.

What a joke. It seems our fears that such programmes are simply mouthpieces for the club are well-founded.At least Lord Haw Haw was open about the fact he was a propaganda tool.

No problem at all, censoring genuine held views is wrong !

Agree that he is entitled to his view since it's not something that can be quantified. But is it actually what he said? I listened to it and didn't at any point feel he was slagging off Ling in the way mentioned in this thread.

Ok, I have read all the comments. I have spoken with Ross on this issue and as far as he and I are concerned the matter is now closed.
What I will say publicly is that the show isn't under any pressure or direction from the club, it will be a show that broadly supports the club but will of course offer constructive criticism when it sees fit.
Kevin has been on the show regularly without incident, however his choice of words on this occasion ensured his comment fell below that of an acceptable level. I did apologise if it caused offence and that was accepted.
As a side to those questioning Dickos ability as a player, he played two seasons in what is now The Championship for Charlton before signing for Orient and playing around 200 matches for the club before injury forced early retirement. He was voted Player of the year and players player of the year whilst at the club.
Hopefully you will tune in this week when Dulcet Dave and England C asst manager Mick Payne join myself ,Darin and Barry in the studio.

Get a broader range of fans on your show

All social media regarding the O's seems to use the same small group of fans because they are well known in the supporters bar or away games. ( Not there fault if they are asked i might add) .

As for Dicko , ask him if he remembers my mate ripping him a new one one sunday morning & he was a painter & decorator by trade an dicko was playing for an O's fans team.
😁

Had to listen to half an hour of that tosh just to hear what Dickenson said. Not quoting him word for word but all he said was Judd likes to defend, can be impetuous but needs to work on his passing and then stated Ling can’t defend and doesn’t offer much going forward either. He was also saying that we didn’t have good delivery from wide at all last season, meaning all full backs and that we haven’t got the players to play wing backs.

That’s it.

Total over reaction from the club, coming to the defence of Sam again. Where are the comments from Ross protecting Myles and Joe Widdowson? It’s bizarre.

For an ex-pro not very constructive. Dickenson was a bang average Left Back. Almost a 1980s version of Myles Judd

I ran that team and nobody tore him anything.
As for guests coming on, the door is very much open mate. Just message me if you'd like to take part, and that goes for any of you. We are very much trying to broaden the number of participants and now have four different presenting panels plus their guests. The presenting teams are myself, Darin Burrows and Barry Galvin.....Billy Herring, Jamie Stripe, Sam Munday. Paul and Steve of Outlook and Steve Tongue and Trevor Singfield. So several new faces already , but room for more.

Yep, it's totally bizarre. To say that Dickeson's comments fell below expectation is nonsense. This is the Orient Hour which usually has an independent point of view, not something like the suck uppy Orient Outlook Podcast

I'm reasonably ok with the panel. Would rather listen to the likes of Jamie Stripe, Jim Nichols and Dave Victor on a more regular basis than a rotation (Sessions too, but he is off now). Maybe could have a fan on every show too that isn't part of the OTF? Someone like PoundhillO, Cockhat or ComeOnYouOs. As long as you don't have the awful Keren and Linda on.

God forbid anyone criticises a player. What he said is absolutely spot on. It's hilarious how many seemingly to nosh the Lings off, the way they carry on.

Final thing from me on this. Nobody has said you can't criticise a player, you just have to be wary not to cross the line where it sounds like a personal attack on someone. we will continue to have an independent view, but be respectful at the same time. It was one sentence, it shouldn't have been said, but let's not blow it out of proportion. We move on.

What was the sentence, out of interest?

If someone says Alabi offers nothing up front and it'd be better off if he left and we got someone else, is that a personal attack?

I do remember consensus opinion on Mooney was that his legs had gone and was too weak which is pretty insulting for a pro.... Don't recall the club contesting that.

Do you actually believe the sh*t you write? Why would RE feel the need to protect the other fullbacks when they haven't been slagged off?
