That's it guys, no team loses 5 on the trot at this stage and gets a play off place. See you next season.

That seems to have given lack of confidence to the whole team.
Where before we were quick, incisive, winning 2nd balls were now slow, ponderous, playing out from the back 4 is not working.
Season is over now, RW can plan for next season.
On the plus side, Currie is back next game so hopefully that'll be the last we see of Sweeney. Got to be moving him on in summer, no good for this level even as a reserve. Simpson hasn't done enough to warrant a contract and Cooper has been poor as well. Got to look to improve on both given Happe's injury record.

On the downside damage is done, as you say start planning for next season now. Play the ones we have under contract like Abdulai and REG to help them nail down their roles going forward.

Imo need a new back 4 next season assuming Currie doesn't return. Never really sorted RB either now Clare is a midfielder so back to the drawing board on that one too. Doubt Galbraith will be here either if he gets an offer.

Can't count on Williams being here past end of season, only on a short term contract

Just traveling back. We looked like a team who hardly knew each other and didn’t have a plan or plans as to how to play. Soooo disappointing. Oh well a week to recover.

Has Williams done enough to want to sign him end of season?
So far he’s looked ok, but nothing more. 10 more games to see if we want each other.

Last 20 minutes we simply could not keep hold of the ball nor could we win a second ball. Very disappointing.

Looking at the current Championship table we could be playing Luton again next season. How the mighty have fallen.

Every team has injuries at this stage of the season.

Would that be a problem? I don’t have an issue with that!

Yes, there are always injuries but in a relatively small squad with what has been a gruelling schedule then injuries to your centre halves choice 1,2 & 3 plus injuries to two full backs and suspension to another is a lot to overcome. We couldn’t cope with that.

The schedule has been awful though it also showed up the weaknesses in the wider squad that need to be addressed. Going forward we've got a massive rebuild on our hands which is also an opportunity if done right.

We've carried too many half fit and injured players this season and eventually it takes its toll on those who are carrying the bulk of the load.

2nd home game in a row where we’ve been out muscled, out pressed and been second best.
Teams now doing to us what we need to them in our ‘purple patch’

That first half was the worse I've seen us play this season and I thought we looked lethargic . We were second best to Northampton all over the pitch . We rallied a bit in the second half and Kelman deserved his goal but unfortunately we didn't do enough . I'm not blaming the players because they have given everything . Our schedule has been brutal . Playing Saturday , Tuesday , Saturday , Tuesday for weeks now has taken its' toll . Also bear in mind our first choice defence has been missing for the last few games . Currie, Happe , Beckles and James , all missing . Anyway , our season is now over . All we can do is try and finish as high as we can in the league but our play off chances have now gone .

My issue is that a few weeks back, with the Exeter game in particular, we looked astonishingly good. The four new signings all looked fantastic. Since then it’s all gone south, Markanday was even dropped today. That’s what’s really disappointing. In early December I’d have been delighted with a top 10 finish, but now I’m really f*cked off by our abysmal drop-off. Has any team even gone from the top of the current form table to the bottom as quickly as we have?

Why has no one mentioned that ref yet?

Cheer up, at least we won't get relegated.

Because we want to assess our (non) performance first, then slag off the guy with the whistle. The ref was too weak in many departments.

Disagree, that ref was the weakest I’ve seen all season.

Don’t think he was weak. Pretty brave to consistently anger a home crowd. But seriously, throughout the league levels there’s a real problem with refereeing. Issues with consistency, pettiness and at the same time willingness to let too much slide.

Fatigued and our whole first choice defence missing . All the damage is done and our season is over now so best start preparing for next season .

Good point . Some bizarre decisions today . Their number 19 Roberts went off injured after jumping all over Donley . How was that not our free kick ? its strange
