Referencing my starting post a lovely brunch in the 1881 Suite pre-match, usual superb service by the trio of Gammons' sisters.
ML was the pre-match "guest" for interview. Bits from that: Teddy Lamb has not gone to Man.City, two PL teams have enquired about him, but no deal done: ML & RW are currently happy with the number of players available to play in defence and those in midfield: They will be targeting replacements for Theo and Jordan in January as both players are out until next season (Theo's knee looks like a shark has had a bite at it {ouch}). ML would not be lead on whether anyone is identified yet.
Great match, but we should have had more goals. Jamie Donley and Jack Currie were my MOTMs. Donley is no longer looking like a "rabbit in headlights". I think he'll have a great season with us, as long as no injury problems occur.

Happy to leave it to whoever brings these players in done well enough so far well done ML and the others involved credit to the club.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 5:15 pmNeed better quality in the forward positions. We have to sign 2 or 3 in those front 4 positions to give Richie a chance. Bringing in Perkins and DJ massively weakens us and you don’t want to have to start them if/when injuries/suspensions/losses of form hit.B.whitehouse+10more wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 3:49 pmWe’ll get in the playoffs without any signings the squad is good enough, if they do sign anyone they only need to be as good as the preseason signings. Looks like we could be going into the championship earlier than expected with the current form the squad has hit. The Orient Express has hit the tracks.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 3:03 pm Another great result, can't wait for the quality signings in the transfer window to enable us toat least get in the play offs.
The squad elsewhere is good enough. Cooper and Simpson, TJ and Sweeney, Ball and Clare and Obeiro. It’s just the top end of the pitch where there’s no depth because of the injuries to Graham and Archibald, plus Perkins and DJ not being good enough.

With Graham and Arciibald out long term I think we're at least one winger short . If we can bring in a decent winger from somewhere I think that could make a big difference. The only problem is I don't know how many loan players we're allowed to have at the club any one time . One of our current loans might have to leave to allow another one to come in .

6th best goal difference and 5th best defence in L1 now. Gotta get a few more goals, though, to really challenge for a top 7 place.

Graham's one doesn't look much better, double stitch / scar lines now. Would imagine both could only be given pay-as-you-play deals going forward given the risk of breaking down again, club has stuck by them this season though carrying another year of higher-end wages may not be the best use of budget in the long run

It was boring football.... This latest run of games has been an amazing transformation. We're playing with more freedom, and look quicker getting forward. The players look like they've all been let off the leash. Something obviously has happened behind the scenes. For example, is Wellens now sitting up top voluntarily?Story of O wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 5:35 pmHold on! I normally get just the one ticket, yup call me Billy, in the South Stand however a 'Glory Hunting' mate is interested to coming along with his young son so looking at the sparsity of tickets together for the Cambridge game but before enquiring about costs what's the feeling re Hospitality either 1881 Suite or PJ Dugout? Cheers m'dears.

Yes, it was a good performance, players were expressing themselves more, and we should have scored more. As pj said, I think, we should have easily had 6.EliotNes wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2024 12:49 pm My above post answers your question, LPE.
