On the clubs website he said he’s a box to box midfielder . Isn’t that what Idris is ?
Where does it say that? Cant see it

How so? He was involved in all their games at the start of 22 until he got injured. He was considered a better player by them than El Miz at the time.

5 starts in 2 years is an impressive stat.

How many of those games did he start?

He was basically sat on the bench.

Someone was keeping El Miz out of the team. Presumably the same person that was keeping Ball out of the team too.

Richie Wellens has bolstered his midfield after a difficult start to the season by bringing in the experienced Dom Ball on a one-year deal.

A holding midfielder who is also capable of playing at the back, Ball is renowned for being a tough-tackler but he’s also tidy in possession. The 29-year-old’s professionalism, leadership and commitment to the cause made him a firm favourite with managers, team-mates and supporters alike at both QPR and Ipswich.

He was ahead of El Miz in the pecking order, that was my point

I guess that the more pertinent question is - all things being equal would Ball still be ahead of El Miz in the pecking order now?

El Miz was an untried and untested kid in 2022. We need to replace the vastly improved 2024 version.

My Ipswich supporting gardener just issued the following on the topic of Ball - “really nice guy but an average footballer”

An average Championship player will do just nicely if he can keep fit and string a good run of games together
