The problem is Hoover I don't think Hemming is either . It would be ironic if Howes becomes our first choice keeper with Hemming as the reserve .

Enough being said about Hemings, which is justified, so let’s focus on positives tonight.

Dan Agyei scoring and off the mark for the season.
Kelman 2 in 2
DJ off the mark
Cooper scoring and hopefully will start and partner Dan Happe v Charlton
Both FB assisting.
COYO’s
I'm delighted Kelman is proving me wrong . He looks a much better player than I remember him .Well done Charlie ,

In that case it's looking like the SPL is a pub league after all then .

Made some great saves
He really didn’t.

I repeat, Howes is not and never will be a L1 standard keeper.
He really did & He really is a goalkeeper for a L1 side, whether we like it or not
I have to back Rubex Kube up here. Made some really decent saves

Which is more than Hemming has done so far

Kind of proves my point. Which one of those is a ‘really decent save’?

Everyone there remembers how nervy he made us all game and how we celebrated that point and that miraculous clean sheet.

I repeat, Howes is not a L1 standard keeper.

Yes at this point I’m glad to say that is the case but I think playing him wider is certainly benefiting him. Long may it continue.

I'm a little more optimistic from what I've seen so far. We're playing more of our football in the last third. Kelman seems to be 'playing' the ball now with more players around him, instead of just going on hopeful runs.

😃

First save - straight at him. If that goes in, he never plays for us again.

Second save - spills the first cross when should have gathered it, collects routine second cross.

Third save - palms a shot straight at him back out to their player who - thankfully - hits it against the post.

Come on now, let’s be serious here.

First one, a nice save for a keeper, close enough to him that he can make the save but at a height where it looks good for the cameras. Very much the kind of thing Hemming needs right now to get even a tiny bit of confidence back, though having seen last night's goal back I don't think he'd make that save at the moment.

Second one flying by seat of his pants somewhat, that ball could just as easily landed at the striker's feet as much as it did his hands. The kind of thing you do at 7 a side or Sunday league, not what you'd expect of League 1 keepers.

Third one, very much flying by seat of his pants put the ball right back into danger, just poor finishing that it wasn't punished. His luck was definitely in that day.

Those highlights also showed just how bad Pigott was for us, ambling and clumsy should've scored one and assisted one in that game alone.

In Piggots defence, should have had a blatant pen and won the ball back well off their left back to create a chance.

This was one of his better games 😂
