The good news is he showed pace and strength in the clips, whether he still has the former after an ACL injury remains to be seen

The first part of my comment was meant to be just ironical black humour !!Ron Waffle wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 9:20 amWe didnt "get rid" of Ruel though. We offered him an improved contract on terms we thought were suitable and he turned it down and signed elsewhere for what he believes is a better deal. So see what this new guy does but from all reports, more like a case of ''hope springs eternal''MassiveForehead wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 6:36 pm My mates a Charlton fan
"You haven't. No way. Really? He's w..k, fat, lazy and slow. He couldn't get a game at Wimbledon and a Scottish team. He's genuinely awful. You're better off signing 10 years for Pratley. I'm putting a bet on you to go down."
Great signing then.
I liked him alot and would have liked him to stay but to keep saying we got rid of him implying we didnt want to keep him is just wrong. Kelman is clearly the Ruel replacement not Diallang and personally i think Kelman can go on to match if not better what Ruel achieved here.
Just to clarify, I've already said I don't know the lad but am happy to go with RWs judgement.......
Yeah, I'll give him that.
Agree.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 12:06 pmJust to clarify, I've already said I don't know the lad but am happy to go with RWs judgement.......
But f**k me, if that's the best highlights reel they can come up with, we may have a problem. Literally no idea how a player with that little finesse fits into our way of playing. I'm truly baffled by this one.
I watched that video and like you. I cant really see any standout moments that can fit the description of ''highlights''Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 12:06 pmJust to clarify, I've already said I don't know the lad but am happy to go with RWs judgement.......

I'm seeing it more like covering Graham / O'Neill as a wide player. Kelman is no Agyei replacement that's for sure, that role is still yet to be filled (I hope)Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:19 pm To be fair, the whole erraticness of those clips is reminiscent of Ruel. I can see how hes been brought in to replace him. (Although not as much of evidence if the clinical instinctive finishing).
Problem with that is it means Kelman is here as our no 2 striker….
Can't see how we paid a fee for him as he was released by Charlton a month back. Journalists, wouldn't trust them ............Zorro wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 10:08 pm Let's hope he has more ability than the BBC reporter that wrote this

We've re-signed Sanders, paid an undisclosed fee for a released 26 year old, and we open the season away to Barnsley...on a Friday night...
I know you keep saying it, and I really hope so too, I’m just not so sure.gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:33 pmI'm seeing it more like covering Graham / O'Neill as a wide player. So let me get this straight, we have signed a long term injury player to cover for a long term injury player (Graham)and could possibly cover for Theo who is a long term injury player but won’t cover Happe who is also a long term injury player ?Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:47 pmI know you keep saying it, and I really hope so too, I’m just not so sure.gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:33 pmI'm seeing it more like covering Graham / O'Neill as a wide player. Unless he’s had another ACL, the ACL injury was effin’ 5 years ago! So we now have three wingers on the books who all have fairly recent histories of knee ligament problems. So with good luck we might manage to get a season of games out of all the three of them combined !Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:58 pmSo let me get this straight, we have signed a long term injury player to cover for a long term injury player (Graham)and could possibly cover for Theo who is a long term injury player but won’t cover Happe who is also a long term injury player ?Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 6:47 pmI know you keep saying it, and I really hope so too, I’m just not so sure.
Sort of “ winger by committee “ approach!Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 10:12 amSo we now have three wingers on the books who all have fairly recent histories of knee ligament problems. Pretty much. I think if Douglas Barder and Stephen Hawkins were available, they would offer them a contract.redintheface wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 10:21 amSort of “ winger by committee “ approach!Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 10:12 amSo we now have three wingers on the books who all have fairly recent histories of knee ligament problems. If money is that tight, wonder why we have players on the books on high wages, ( Moncur and Piggot to mention a couple of names ) who dont even get in the side on a regular basis ? Surely there must be young fit players of potential in the division two and National league who might be better options than signing injury prone players as Os do.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 10:43 amPretty much.
