That Kanyon Edwards was also given a runout by arsenal in a European cup game.

Do your research. Perkins has olayed in PL as sub & twice in Europe, Was also at Oxford on loan. Stick to vaccuuming as you know nothing compared to RW & Ml.

Shaq Forde had no EFL experience when he joined and he worked out okay. But rather than waiting to see Sonny play before expressing an opinion, the normal idiots choose to write Sonny off because they weren't impressed with Khayon Edwards and Daniel Adu-Adjei last season.

Yes , a very Orient- esque type of transfer business . I'm sorry but I'm totally underwhelmed by this news .
Totally Agree.Surely he was not our 1st choice forward. More like a3rd or 4th choice. Still there are rumours that we are signing another forward this week. Let’s hope he has more experience in this league.Getting rid of Piggott will free up some extra funds. We must concentrate in getting an experienced goalie.

The first of many loans. If this is the replacement I am not holding my breath on what else walks through the doors.

It's been a while since we've had the old "unless you're a manager shut up" trope.

In Wellens we trust, Ling however is a different story...
But Ling just looks after the budget, he doesnt set it. However we constantly get the Ling tropes bashing away

Shaq had just had a very successful loan period with York.

Richie himself said as a L1 club we should be looking for youngsters on their 2nd loan, not there first. Boys who have had their first run out in men’s football and learnt a bit. This doesn’t fit that criteria.

That's the hope, realistically you have these positions to fill so hoping the #2 striker is someone to get excited about

First choice ST - Agyei
Second choice ST - hopefully a similar tall strong cover for Dan A, we missed this role badly last season imo
Third choice ST - probably Kelman doing the running out wide
Fourth choice ST - the youth loanee for fresh legs and cup games i.e. Perkins

I’m sure there will be more signings. This chap will be with us to gain experience and hopefully make a positive contribution to the squad. Let’s give him a chance and not write him off before he’s kicked a ball.

I’m not a particular fan of Ruel but he was capable of putting the ball in the net, this signing is certainly no upgrade, and given the strength of this league this season, if the next few signings are no better then I’m off to the bookies and I’m not a gambler.

Will he be any better that the two young kids we signed in January? Let's hope so but I'm not confident about that.

Sonny will push Pigott really hard for a place on the bench
It’s nearly July and we’ve done jack all to reinforce the squad.

Of course we’ll make additional signings (at some point), that’s not the issue.

After signing Edwards in January, Richie made it pretty clear we should not be signing untried, untested kids on their first loan spell. We are bigger than that now and should be taking on those on their second spell as they progress upwards. Despite that, we’ve gone and done it again. The loan spell at Oxford last season obviously doesn’t count, they didn’t use him. So he must have made some massive strides over this pre-season to now be L1 ready….

Still, at least someone will be able to book a table at their favourite restaurant without any bother now. 🙄

Difficult to know the thinking behind this move.
RW was highly critical of the two untested kids brought in in January.
He said we should be doing better, second loans etc.
And here we are doing it again. Unless there’s some underlying reason/rationale to it, it makes no sense at all.
Our forward line looks incredibly weak, we need three decent signings in.
This should not even count as a signing.
The club should explain this signing.

To be fair, Adjei2 did look ok once he’d got his feet under the table. Very raw but worth a look at again.

Edwards was just a massive mistake.

That’s why its important to get him in early, so he gets a full pre-season with us. He’s a lot more highly regarded than the two we got in January too.

He’s being written off before he’s even reported for training, let alone kicked a ball for the club.
