Currently there is nothing to apologise for but as I said if in the extremely unlikely event that Southgate as Manager wins an England major tournament I will apologise.

Southgate is extremely stubborn and cautious - it would not surprise me if the picks the same team other than the suspended defender v. Switzerland.

1. All the TV and paper commentators say he should replace the right footed Trippier with a left footed left back to open out the left side. His passing map clearly shows the problem - he only passes backwards or inside

2. Palmer should be starting but he wont

3. Kane needs help up front

Even Alf Ramsey knew he got it wrong and changed his team selection but don't expect Southgate to.

I don't watch Real Madrid but as I understand it, Jude has been playing the 10 role for them all season (quite successfully, I hear).

What a win for Southgate though. In more ways than one. All the manic pundits screaming about subs and tactics as well as the arm chair fans on here and he stayed calm, composed and took us to the next round. He knows what it takes to go far in tournaments but people on here know better
