I doubt it , he's still under contract I believe πŸ€”
Pigott is on big money reputedly, so I wonder who will take him especially on last season's form. We may have to subsidize his salary or if no-one takes him, even pay up his contract. Oh dear

How much will we have to pay for a better striker who scored 13 goals (or more) last season?
Probably get somebody on a free like most our signings.

As for wages, I dont know what Ruel is on or commands now. Market rate I guess. We dont get a discount because he's come through our ranks.
I suspect we do still 'believe we 'get a discount' which is why he's never keen to accept our first offer.

If he does go, we get compensation even though he’s at the end of his contract

Should the deal be completed, Orient will be entitled to compensation for their young striker, owing to the fact he is below 24, and has been with the East London side since he was a schoolboy.

Seen the articles about this. Well within his right to move on but not too gutted he is off...could have had 20+ goals had he not missed the easy chances!

If the guy doesn't want to be here then they can go. Don't matter what club they end up at.

All the same I'm surprised he would move to Bristol Rovers . I was expecting if he left it would be for a club like Peterborough.

Yeah true...maybe shows his ambition? Or maybe that he thinks he can't play higher than League 1?

Still, at least we get some money for him.

tish tish - the Gas is a destination of choice for all aspirations

(not really, but I think I'm probably pleased about this. Bristol Post says we are 'closing in on a swoop' - which I think means that discussions are quite advanced, but it's not yet a done deal

Whatever we get for Ruel will boost our fund for securing El Mizouni.

I meant no disrespect to Rovers, Saxon . It’s just that Peterborough seemed to be odds on his most likely destination.

What we really need is to offload Pigott. He’s had plenty of chances at Orient but it just hasn’t worked out for him or us .

If he leaves our only remaining striker is a donkey who scored two goals all season

If this is true, and it looks like it is, I'm more than a bit upset

Ruel is ' one of our own '. Been here years, and very decent, but to go to a bog standard club like Rovers, amazes me.

Had he got himself a Championship club, or even a top league 1 outfit, I'd have said he's done well, but effin Bristol Rovers .......

Disagree, I think he’s a decent forward but not an out and out striker

Piggot on the other hand

we have an agreed budget and wage structure here and it is important for the long-term stability of the club that we stick to that. Myself and all of the footballing staff are aligned on that.
No surprise there, tries to hold the club to ransom each time his contract ends. Glad they've not given in, he's not worth paying through the nose for. Now get someone who wants to be here and preferably can trap a ball and pass it
