Against: we still have to go to Barnsley, Oxford, Stevenage & Derby and most of our recent upturn in form was achieved with Dan Agyei in the team
Stevenage without Agyei and Omar is not a great prospect.
Hopefully Omar will be back by then. But it's certainly not the kind of match you'd expect Adu-Adjei or Edwards to thrive in.
Obviously a little while away but I’d be inclined to go Piggot up top. Stevenages game plan is simple - press high, stop us playing out, force us to kick long for their centre halves to win everything then fight for second ball. With Piggot we at least have some chance of winning balls and stopping it coming straight back.

Didn’t we try that with Harry Smith in last season’s fixture?

Seriously, Piggot, he should be nowhere near the starting line up, He offers nothing, he can’t hold the ball up, he can’t run, he can’t shoot, his last couple of sub appearances have been nothing short of embarrassing.
Stevenage defence will be really worried 😉

Sadly not.

Well, not until we were 2-0 down and left with just 10 men.

I obviously agree he shouldn’t be.

But Agyei is injured and we failed to bring in a suitable replacement. There is no alternative.

ComeOnYouOs wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 3:29 pm The loss of Agyei is massive, and means we will probably just fall short. If Dan had been playing in our last 2 games we would have won both by 4 or 5 goals.
Its still possible however, just not as likely now
My thoughts exactly. I just don't think that we have got the firepower to make the play offs - but obviously I'd love to be proved wrong!

Exactly...as good as Dan the man is far too much is being made of his loss. No negativity, we have to cope without him.

Gap could be as little as four points come 5pm.

We will cope without him.

We just won’t be able to maintain the automatic promotion/2 points per game form we’ve been in, and that would be necessary to reach the play offs.

Yes we can still make the play offs, can start by sending Piggott to Boco Island and give the young loanees a chance.

I'm forced to agree with you . Pigott looks a shell of a player .

We need the loan forwards to contribute. It’s a big ask but it’s hardly impossible.

I think once our Safety or play off chances are decided then we may see some of the PL loanees.
Pigott tried today but didn’t have much support in the 2nd half and was constantly outnumbered or outmuscled.
The loan youngsters need to be given a chance at some point.

To answer the original question this thread asks: not with our minimal squad depth we can’t.

I don’t think RW has any other choice. Ruel could be injured and Piggott is not the answer.we should put him on the transfer list in the summer
