If it were a word in whelmed by this one. He looked both find of the season and liability within the course of a couple of weeks so very much a time will tell player.

More interesting is whether we'll see any departures to free up budget as we must be very tight to the limit now and still needing that winger at least?

Think Brandon will prove to be a very good signing for us.
Welcome to the O’s Coops.

Meh. Not particularly enthused by this signing as I believe he's been a bit of a liability in games I've seen. We've been in a better run since he went playing elbow head with the derby attack.

I do wonder if the permanent signing of Cooper means we’ve been approached about Happe

Great signing
Him being introduced originally coincided with our 1st clean sheet & wins & many points along the way.

Taking revenge on the Derby player who put him
on the deck in the 1sst half is understandable.

Dean Smith did the same thing to Leo Fortune West
Months after his own injured eye.

Fortune West & Dean were both out for about 3 months .

O's fans still love Deano.

Not sure that elbow could ever be described as understandable

Debs on Leo or the other way around ?

An eye for an eye & all that.
Either way Deano was never told he needs to
control his temper as Cooper seems to be

Out of interest how far back are we allowed to go to justify an action that most people correctly so should be outraged by? I mean I’ve read about Smith and Fortune-West a few times now in an attempt to justify Coopers elbow and it’s hardly the most comprehensive comparable. If someone tells a sexist joke are we allowed to support it with claims that comedians used to get prime time TV shows out of it? Not that I would I’m just looking for the cut off point.

Cooper was and hopefully will continue to be a very good defender for us, however it doesn’t take away from the fact if he committed the elbow on the street he’d be facing a lengthy sentence. There’s no excusing it, it was wrong and as a professional footballer he should know better.

Keeping 2 left footed centre backs in a squad? I doubt it. I thought Happe is in the last 6 months of his contract, so Cooper must be cover and the club will take any decent money offered for Happe.

We aren't going to go back to 3 fit centre backs. I might be wrong but there is zero pointing to Happe leaving, he's played more than any other defender we have this season. Wellens loves him.

Ive heard Roy Keane waited 4 years to stand over Haaland. A lot of players will wait a couple of seasons some rhe return match. Bill Roffey would wait 1 second. Plenty of street fights in the world few result in sentences.

Again not a recent comparable. Games moved on rather than players carrying a grudge for weeks/months/years.

I get the gist of what you are saying but I don’t get the justification of the elbow.

Who is Justiifying it ?

Cooper gets grief.
Yet plenty have done worse in an O's shirt & are lauded as

So if someone attacks you at your work are you not allowed to retaliate or defend yourself ?

Or will you just forgive them ?

You don’t have to play 1 right footed CB and 1 left footed CB, you know.

Well, there’s the fact that he only signed for a year and is out of contract in the summer. Wouldn’t surprise me if there was an understanding that if he signed the contact, we wouldn’t stand in his way should a bigger club come in. And that well also get a fee.

With an option to extend it for another season. I saw it more as a hedge against him not recovering from the injury he got. I can't see his form this season earning him a move to a bigger club tbh.

I’m very pleased with this signing because I’ve always thought he was a good player. All I would say is I hope he can control his temper a little bit better in the future even if he’s provoked. Elbowing an opponent right in the mouth in front of the fourth official wasn’t the smartest thing to do.

Good in the air and physical.
Cooper is predominantly right footed isn't he?
Or have I not been paying attention
