I've walked past the flags in Ilford and they must have been put up with a cherry picker and are fixed on with cable ties, they couldn't just be "pulled down".
If someone wants to put a Palestine flag on their own property that's up to them but to put them on council property/furniture (eg lamp posts) is possibly a criminal offence and is currently being pursued by lawyers. Redbridge/Ilford does have a sizeable Jewish population and the presence of the flags is provocative and unsettling for Jewish people, particularly when placed in full view of synagogues (as they are in Ilford), and is just another example of the low-level antisemitism which sadly seems to be perpetrated by a small section of the public and tolerated by the authorities.

There is a Palestinian flag flying on Cranbrook Road that is visible from outside the Cranbrook United Synagogue on Beehive Lane. (Or at least there was last Friday when I walked past it.)

I mentioned ‘accurately put’ in response to Faldo’s comment generally. If you are saying Faldo was not accurate then please take it up with him.
