Watching the Bolton game, take your pick who goes, as we sadly look like a team of L2 & NL players playing in L1.
RW got a big job on his hands in Jan to turn this team into a L1 winning machine

Hopefully quite a few, too many passengers and L2 players in this squad

We need to get in some new defenders as we have a lot of old baggage

If Hunt and Sotiriou are out for weeks then they wont be leaving. Also makes it less likely that Sweeney will go.

The club are in a bit of a difficult situation because players surplus to requirements like Thompson and Drinan are injured.

I can only presently see Moncur going and maybe Happe if anyone is interested.

Sweeney could still go if RW prefers to use James and Brown as fullbacks rather than play him.

Preferring to move James and put a CM at RB speaks volumes about the position of Sweeney in the squad.

Cooper return to Swansea, loan out Sweeney to L2 / NL
Bring in one signing who can cover both spots (in the Whing mould)

Moncur out to L2 somewhere
Wide man in, think we have enough in midfield if Sanders is finally fit to play regularly

Also suspect there could be other outs, Happe in particular I reckon would be off like a shot if an offer arrives.

It’s right to pick brown over sweeney.

Agreed that they’re the ones to go.

Why would we sell Happe? Would leave us short at centre back same as Sweeney. It would appear that you constantly moan about our young players? Have you ever praised one?

Out of contract at end of the season, was said at the time he was hoping on a move away but it didn't come to fruition hence only signing for a year. If an offer comes in and he wants to go then what do you do? This one might not be in the club's hands if there was a reasonable bid.

Sweeney isn't up to it for League 1, was living on the edge in League 2 let alone a level higher.

For the final point yes, Josh Koroma, long gone now. Most of what they produce from the academy now are proving to be NL South level, miles off being useful for where we are.

The academy under Andy Edwards was a million miles away from the talent we have in there now.

Hopefully that will change again as we re-establish ourselves as a L1 (or higher side), rather than a basket case L2/National League side.

Sanders
Sweeney
I think you are right about Happe and Sotiriou, the latter not being developed here with lacklustre support up front especially. Happe has vastly improved since non-league with a noticeable improvement in his actual style of play and apparent weight loss. I will not be sad to seen Drinan and Thompson leave at all.

I don't think Happe would be a great loss. Not quick enough, and especially slow on the turn. And given his height, is only average in the air. And also, he's not commanding enough for a centre back.

I think Cooper's three game suspension ended with the Wycombe game so it will be interesting to see if he's in the squad for tomorrow . If he isn't he could well be on his way back to Swansea . It would be a pity because I think he's a good player .

Happes pace was a real issue when he made the first team but it’s something he’s worked on and is no longer a concern of mine. Calling him average in the air is just laughable.

My only gripe as I’ve said before is he’s just too nice.

He was ok but we’ve improved without him as a team since changing shape and bringing Beckles back in.

He’s a goner.

That's so reassuring to know that his pace is 'no longer a concern of yours'. (thats what you call laughable !) And it's such a pity that you only have 'one gripe' about him too..
As for his heading ability, he's not as good as he should be. For a centre back, he's joe average.

He wins literally every defensive header.

Where the ball ends up is a different matter, but he wins them.

If the suspension was 3 matches, I believe he missed Cheltenham, Bolton, and Charlton, so was eligible for Wycombe. Not even on the bench, so I think he is a goner. Personally I think he was our best centre half, but we can't afford a headcase who could get sent off any minute. Needs to sort his head out if he wants a good career going forward.

Ah yes you're right, he had already served his suspension by the Wycombe game .Yes, it looks like he's gone then .

Today’s excellent clearance from an attacking corner underlines your point.

The only player I could see going out on loan might be Sweeney . He's currently not in the first team squad or injured . That's not to say he's a bad player because he isn't . it's just that for whatever reason he's not featuring .

Was he ? Ok, I missed that . I still think he could be the most likely to go out on loan
