Where's this come from that Cooper was just meting out vengeance? Or are you talking silliness?

Players don't normally throw an elbow to a face for no reason . You do understand vengeance is a thing within Football don't you.

I still don’t really understand what he’s going on about. As you say, weird.

It allegedly being done deliberately in revenge is in my view an aggravating factor, not a mitigating one

Cooper did go down earlier, didn’t he. And Collins was one of those bumhole strikers that wind defenders up. Makes sense that Cooper done it as revenge, rather than just a random attack.

Doesn’t excuse it, of course.

My biggest gripe is doing it right under the eye of the 4th official. What a numptie.

It's almost as if he really didn't care about (best case) or actively wanted (worst case) the card and associated ban.

It’s a bizarre accusation.

It seems I'm not the only one who saw Cooper go down
In the 1st half . Only suggesting it was vengeance.

I've heard other players , say they've saved a retaliation for a couple of seasons & then get the revenge.
Maybe Cooper thought It's my only chance of getting it.
Not good but understandable if you've taken one already.

Players will wait and take revenge when the "right" occasion to arise.

Quoting Roy Keane on his career ending "tackle" on Alf Inger Haaland :-

"I'd waited long enough. "I f***ing hit him hard. The ball was there (I think). Take that you c***."

They had a running feud over a number of seasons.
