I was taught restoration by an ex West End restorer in 1990 so I am a commercial restorer as opposed to a museum restorer. His family had a gallery off Bond Street but he decided to drop out to a remote cottage in Wales, from there he ran art restoration courses. One of the best things I ever did, it saved me a fortune in restoration fees and the work was done quicker.
