I missed my maths GCSE because my dim mate Martin assured me it was a day later than it was.
I then pretended to have it for the next 20 years of my life until I told my boss when she encouraged me to actually do the thing I wanted to do (do a Mickey Mouse/incredibly worthwhile, depending on your view of art degrees) and maybe do a PGCE at some point in the future.
She was like “oh, you’re alright at maths though, right?” and I literally said “as long as you don’t ask me about national lottery probability, yes” then explained the joke. She then said “leave it with me” then came and got me the next day out of a lesson I was TAing and was like “you know the nightmare about not being prepared for an exam and being naked? Well it’s only the first bit. You’ve got a maths GCSE booked in now if you fancy it”, and I sat down with her “invigilating” by reading a book, and got an A.
So yes is the answer.
