He's got to be 26+ and he's still playing semi-professional football so I'd imagine he's a step off what we're looking for.

Fair point. Not sure why we have non-league triallists. Why don’t we have uncontracted L1 and L2 players as triallists?Eat The Rich wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 9:00 pmHe's got to be 26+ and he's still playing semi-professional football so I'd imagine he's a step off what we're looking for.

Impressed. You’re predicting we will get a three goal lead at some point.

Come on lads.... Just one person needs to slag off the side so then the mob can release their frustrations on him.
Anyone know who the midfield trialist was?

Re: Bishops stortford tonight
Disoriented asked if Chambers was any good. The implied question being whether we might be seriously looking to sign Michael Chambers. I pointed out the obvious reason why we wouldn't and you have inferred that I was actually against him turning out for us in a pre-season friendly to make up the numbers. The source of your certainty being? I agree, signing him seems to make no sense but whenhas that mattered.Eat The Rich wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 9:58 pmDisoriented asked if Chambers was any good. Re: Bishops stortford tonight
Well that was a game of two halves. 3-0 at half time scored some decent goals only stretched a couple of times at the back all good really. I walked past the Zbishop Stortford dressing room at half time and their manager was going ballistic telling them to get at our full backs who were ****. They certainly got at us second half and taking off Wright and the midfield triallist for Shabani and Alabi weakened us considerably. Judd and Sweeney started to look very vulnerable and the back four that looked OK first half started to look very uncomfortable. We conceded three shocking goals and created less.
Pros - Lee Angol will be a real asset this season and is a good finisher, he linked up well with JMD and Wilkinson, Ogie did Well frightening how good he could be. We won't field that inexperienced defence again. Credit the trialists who both did OK.
We looked far better with Wright anchoring the midfield first half.
Cons - Judd, Sweeney, Gorman, Alabi, Shabani were all poor. Did themselves no favours in the second half.

Re: Bishops stortford tonight
Shame that players who had a chance to shine, didn’t. Particularly Gorman and Judd who are contenders to start. Starting to like Angol based on clips. Him, JMD and Wilkinson likely starters as is Wright, looking OK. Result no big deal with Coulson, Happe, Ekpiteta and Widdowson to play. Plus Clay.Top of the West. wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 10:17 pm Well that was a game of two halves. 3-0 at half time scored some decent goals only stretched a couple of times at the back all good really. Depth is the concern.
Re: Bishops stortford tonight
Not too concerned about the goals, we had 3 kids and a trialist in defence. Pleased I bet on Angol for top League scorer, he looks more skilful than Bonne, although it remains to be seen if he will be as hard working.
I know it the weather is the same for both sides, but don't know why we didn't use the subs a bit more, and it might have been a lot to give some of the younger guys 90 minutes against old opposition. Not a surprise we dipped.
Taking off the likes of Sweeney, Ogie, Janata at half time or even 60 minutes would have been good. What was a great night for them turned into a bit of a downer.
Result has probably massively increased the chance of a couple of signings before the season starts.

It would be massively disappointing if we didn't bring in a winger/striker and a midfield player before Aug 3rd.eagwgw wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 10:36 pm Not too concerned about the goals, we had 3 kids and a trialist in defence.
