For his quality yes; for his ability to stay fit I'd say no. If Smyth does have a decision to make today it will be football versus finances. A team like Brum can't afford to manage his minutes in any where near the same way as we have had to. If I was a betting man, then he will only last half a dozen games at a championship side before breaking down in some way. Its very sad because his ability is clear, but he's made of glass.

FWIW he's hardly made a contribution to our efforts throughout the month of January. He's been very off colour and is a primary reason for our change of fortune. Its not as if he's been man marked out of games - he just ain't been in them.

If he was at Birmingham, he wouldn't be the main man and have started 24 out of their 28 games. He'd be very much a squad player.

Well, a good pal of mine was in Leyton High Rd yesterday & overheard a conversation between 2 men, discussing that a mate of theirs had overheard someone connected to the club saying Smyth, Birmingham & Spaghetti Junction but couldn't make out the rest of what was said.
